She is expected to join the film's Hyderabad schedule.
Wamiqa Gabbi has reportedly been cast in a prominent role in Prasanth Varma’s highly anticipated mythological epic Jai Hanuman.
The news comes off the back of an impressive and remarkably busy 2026 for the actress across multiple film industries simultaneously.
According to reports, Wamiqa has joined the cast of the film, though details about her character are being kept under wraps.
She is expected to join the film’s Hyderabad schedule in the coming weeks as production on the ambitious project continues.
Jai Hanuman is headlined by Rishab Shetty, who steps into the role of Lord Hanuman in the much-anticipated follow-up film.
The film serves as the sequel to Prasanth Varma’s 2024 superhero blockbuster Hanu-Man.
While Teja Sajja led the events of the first film, the sequel shifts focus to Lord Hanuman himself as the central figure.
The film is being mounted as a large-scale mythological action drama exploring Hanuman’s devotion, immense strength and his presence in the age of Kaliyug.
Production officially commenced earlier this year with a traditional launch ceremony held at Anjanadri Betta, a historic site in Hampi.
Anjanadri Betta is widely regarded as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, making it a deeply significant location for the launch.
The film is backed by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series, two of Indian cinema’s most prominent production entities.
Jai Hanuman is currently targeting a theatrical release in the second half of 2027 as the ambitious production continues to take shape.
Wamiqa’s reported casting comes at a time when she is enjoying one of the most productive and celebrated phases of her career.
She was recently seen in Bhooth Bangla and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, both of which added considerable momentum to her already growing profile.
She is currently receiving significant praise for her performance in Arun Matheshwaran’s Tamil film DC.
DC marks the acting debut of acclaimed director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who steps in front of the camera for the first time in the film.
The film has opened strongly at the box office, grossing an estimated Rs 44.26 crore worldwide across its first four days of release.
The commercial success of DC has further cemented Wamiqa’s reputation as one of the most versatile and in-demand actors working today.
The reported addition of Wamiqa Gabbi to Jai Hanuman has already generated considerable excitement among fans of the franchise.
