"We can do better storytelling."

The newly released teaser for Pati Patni Aur Woh Do has recently sparked a massive wave of online controversy.

It features Ayushmann Khurrana navigating a complicated romantic life involving three different leading women across the entire film plot.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on May 15 2026, under the direction of Mudassar Aziz.

Social media users have expressed significant disappointment over the film’s apparent normalisation of infidelity and outdated gender based stereotypes.

Many critics believe that Bollywood filmmakers must finally stop turning seriously problematic issues into a form of lighthearted comedy.

One social media user noted: “Bollywood needs to stop turning seriously problematic issues into ‘comedy.’

“Whether it’s cheating, alpha beta male dynamics, or toxic relationships, everything is packaged as humorous or glamorous.

“We can do better storytelling than relying on this cringeworthy content.”

People are particularly frustrated by the recurring theme of men cheating being treated as a funny and charming trait.

One person wrote: “Flip the script to patni ki fitrat and try to normalise wives cheating and this type of comedy will get instant ban.”

The teaser starts with a voiceover discussing how everything changes in the world except for the nature of husbands.

This narrative choice has been labelled as an obsession with glorifying adultery through the lens of a humorous story.

A frustrated viewer expressed their anger by questioning the never-ending obsession with the concept of husbandly nature.

The user wrote: “What the heck is ‘patiyon ki fitrat’ Bollywood with its never-ending obsession with glorifying infidelity.”

Ayushmann Khurrana is joined by actresses Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh in this upcoming sequel.

The story serves as a spiritual successor to the successful 2019 romantic comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh starring Kartik Aaryan.

Supporting roles feature talented actors like Vijay Raaz, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and the versatile artist, Guneet Singh.

T Series and B R Chopra are presenting this project, which aims to explore a supposed diversity of complex relationships.

Some fans pointed out that the teaser did not even manage to elicit a smile due to its repetitiveness.

The user said: “How many movies on that same topic? Guy with girlfriend and wife, the trailer is not even funny.”

Others feel that the industry is doomed if it continues to rely on these stale and highly problematic themes.

The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar with Juno Chopra serving as the main creative producer.

Producers Renu Ravi Chopra and Bhushan Kumar are hoping that the film finds its audience despite the initial backlash.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is set to premiere on May 15, 2026.
