"I think it's okay for a man to talk to another woman"
Asma Abbas came under fire for her take on marriage as she claimed there is no harm in a “married man flirting”.
She appeared as a guest on Wasi Shah’s show Zabardast with Wasi Shah on Neo TV.
During the interview, she shared her unconventional views on marriage, openly stating that there’s no harm in a bit of “minor flirting”.
Asma said: “My husband was already married when we got married.
“I think it’s okay for a man to talk to another woman, especially if he’s the father of your children and comes back home to you.
“It’s not good to suffocate someone too much.”
Discussing her husband’s flirtatious nature, she mentioned that all men engage in some flirting.
She clarified that her husband loves her deeply. Asma respects his boundaries, so a little playful flirting is acceptable to her, adding that she does not mind.
The actress explained that being her husband’s second wife, she doesn’t believe in stifling her partner.
Asma Abbas emphasised that it’s not always about crossing boundaries. Sometimes people just connect mentally, leading to enjoyable conversations.
She also shared insights into her relationship with her husband’s first wife.
Grateful for her acceptance, she expressed thanks for the 12 years they spent living together.
Asma elaborated that throughout this time, they fostered a bond based on mutual respect and camaraderie.
She highlighted her husband’s role in maintaining harmony and fairness between both wives. He ensured that each wife received her due share of attention and care.

She asserted that when a wife begins to earn, it invariably garners more respect from her husband.

Following her comments, Asma faced criticism from viewers, who accused her of normalising flirting among married men.
They argued that her perspective may inadvertently trivialise the boundaries of marital fidelity and respect within relationships.
