"People just hate happy women"

Hania Aamir recently used her social media platform to call out the toxic culture of online bullying.

She shared a detailed video on Instagram addressing her recent period of self-doubt and deep public scrutiny.

The actor noted that her pain came from a realisation that “people just hate happy women” in society.

She explained how the traditional pressure of “Log kya kahengay” has now moved onto various digital forums today.

Women are frequently targeted by both men and colleagues when they choose to live “beyond the validation of others.”

Much of this criticism stems from a failure to meet specific mental expectations set by the public.

“We’re still pitting women against women. We’re still calling women black, white, fat, thin.

“We’re still doing all of that, but the forum has changed, and now it’s on Instagram.”

While social media can build positive communities, the hate directed at women remains a major and systemic issue.

Hania highlighted clear double standards by citing a time when she and another celebrity wore the same outfit.

She observed that male stars can wear similar clothes without facing the harsh comparisons women deal with daily.

People immediately subject women to “this or that” comparisons instead of letting them enjoy their fashion choices now.

The star also spoke about the low bar for male allyship and how the internet rejoices over gestures.

She appreciates supportive men, but noted the public continues to scrutinise women despite these small gestures of support.

Hania urged all social media users to practice deep self-reflection before engaging in any hateful online behaviour.

She questioned whether the hostility stems from a woman’s popularity or simply from her enjoying her life.

She pointed out that those who challenge the status quo are usually only celebrated after they have passed.

“Stop gaslighting and bullying people in general to water themselves down and their personalities.

“Let them be whoever they are.”

She finally asked the public to stop “aimlessly pointing guns” at women for existing differently than once taught.

The actress believes everyone should have the right to be themselves without facing a constant fear of backlash.

Her message resonated with many women who feel the weight of societal expectations while trying to work daily.

She mentioned that staying true to oneself is difficult when the world wants you to fit a box.

Hania Aamir hopes her words will encourage people to be kinder and more supportive of each other on Instagram.
