“We’re thrilled to be bringing Mobeen back to the screen."
It has been announced that Guz Khan’s Man Like Mobeen will return for a fifth and final series, with filming underway in Coventry and Turkey.
The BAFTA-nominated BBC series follows former drug dealer Mobeen as he struggles to escape his dark past and raise his daughter in Birmingham.
First-look images of the fifth series have been released.
Series four ended on a cliffhanger as Mobeen was attacked in prison.
Guz explained that he only agreed to a fifth series to provide much-needed closure to fans.
He said: “Listen, please, this is very important to the sanctity and functionality of my life.
“I can’t even shop in Aldi without someone popping out from behind the bread aisle and asking me when there’s going to be more Man Like Mobeen.
“So for you, and only for you, here’s one, final, very last, never to be done again season of Man Like Mobeen.
“PS, please don’t make me make anymore, I got loads of kids to raise and that. Love you.”
Across the six new episodes, which will air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in 2025, the series promises an epic finale.
Mobeen is reunited with the gang in Small Heath before embarking on an overseas adventure if he can get his hands on a plane ticket and a fake passport.
Tom Jordan, Creative Director of Comedy at Tiger Aspect, said:
“We’re thrilled to be bringing Mobeen back to the screen.
“He has a lot of unfinished business, and this series aims to be the most ambitious and hilarious yet. Can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve got in store.”

BBC Director of Comedy Jon Petrie added:
“Man Like Mobeen has been a comedy juggernaut for BBC Three, and saying goodbye is going to be tough for everyone.
“But as much as we don’t want to, we’ve got to be grown-ups and accept it’s the end.
“Guz Khan and Andy Milligan have crafted something truly special in these final scripts, and we’re going out with a bang… even if keeping a straight face will be a challenge.
“It’s the last series, but it’s bigger and funnier than ever.”
Among the returning cast members include Salman Akhtar as Saj, Duaa Karim as Mobeen’s younger sister Aqsa and Hussina Raja as Mobeen’s crush Nida.
The series is written and co-created by Guz Khan and Andy Milligan, who together were named Best Writer three years running at the RTS Midlands Awards.
Man Like Mobeen previously won Best Comedy at the 2020 Broadcast Digital Awards and was nominated for Best Comedy at the 2021 BAFTAs.
Meanwhile, Tiger Aspect’s Man Like Mobeen Trainee Scheme has once again created entry-level production jobs for candidates within the West Midlands, with four placements across Costume, Art, Production, and the Camera team.
Alongside this, the show has also collaborated with both ScreenSkills and the BBC Comedy Collective to add roles on the production for a Shadow Director, a Co-Producer, and an Associate Producer.
