"This is my hustle anthem for all the fierce winners"
Guru Randhawa has released his new track ‘Marzi’, an upbeat anthem about independence, self-determination and earning success on your own terms.
The song draws on the Punjabi phrase ‘mitran di marji’, meaning ‘our wish, our way’, and turns the cultural expression into a statement about ambition and personal freedom.
Randhawa said the track is dedicated to people who make their own choices despite criticism, outside pressure and societal expectations.
“Marzi is me stripping all that away to show the raw muscle behind the hustle.
“This track is a reminder of that unbreakable Punjabi grit, which is that independent, uncompromising drive where you don’t ask for permission; you just command the room.”
The singer also reflects on his journey through the accompanying music video:
“I went from driving a Gypsy to rolling in G-Wagon convoys, but my core and mindset have stayed true to who I am.
“This is my hustle anthem for all the fierce winners who are self-made and take responsibility for their own choices, and make it clear to a world that is full of criticism and hate that every single victory was earned on their own terms.”
The video adopts a gritty, action-focused aesthetic, with Randhawa appearing in fight sequences and intense training scenes.
It also features Maruti Gypsys, heavy-duty trucks, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons, fighter jets and a police entourage.
Despite the emphasis on wealth, power and achievement, the visual narrative centres on Guru Randhawa remaining connected to his roots.
The artist said: “This song is a definitive thesis on what it means to dictate your own destiny.
“In this industry, everyone tries to tell you how to dress, how to sound, and which door to walk through. Marzi is me shutting the door on external noise and rewriting the rules.
“At some point you need to silence the outer chatter and listen to that inner voice and follow your own gut.
“If you are out there forging your own path, taking high-stakes risks and staying sovereign in a world full of trends, this is your rallying cry.
“This song is about ownership – of your choices, your circle, your story.
“Punjab doesn’t ask for a seat at the table. We build our own table.”
“This is for everyone who has forged their own path from the ground up, call their own shots and lives life entirely on their own terms.”
‘Marzi’ combines Guru Randhawa’s pop sound with Punjabi street influences and a slower-burning groove. Its central hook reinforces the song’s message of confidence, independence and personal agency.
The release continues Randhawa’s focus on blending Punjabi cultural identity with contemporary pop music and large-scale visual storytelling.
