Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has opened up about the warm reception he received in Pakistan.
He recalled how he and the entire film team were showered with considerable affection during the visit.
The experience took place when they travelled to Lahore for a film premiere celebration.
In a recent interview with Indian media outlets, Hashmi shared heartfelt details about the trip.
He, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and others were welcomed with open arms when they arrived.
The actor said the hospitality he received stood out as truly memorable and special.
Even though the trip lasted only two days, the warmth remained deeply impressive.
Describing the visit in detail, Hashmi said: “The film was Awarapan. It was released in Pakistan, and we went to Lahore for the promotion.
“The reception we received there was so heartfelt and amazing.
“The people were incredibly warm, and the hospitality was fantastic.
“The way they took care of us was truly memorable.
“We stayed there for two days, and before going, we had some concerns in our minds, but once we arrived, all those fears disappeared.
“We had a wonderful experience.”
His comments highlighted the genuine warmth and kindness displayed by Pakistani audiences and people.
When the interviewer asked if he had any concerns before the trip, specifically, Hashmi replied:
“There was nothing of the sort; they are beautiful people.”
His response demonstrated his appreciation for the Pakistani people and their genuine hospitality.
He also spoke about the response to his other films in Pakistan generally:
“Hindi films have always had a huge craze in Pakistan.”
He continued: “People there really love watching Hindi movies.”
He pointed to Jannat as another film that performed exceptionally well in Pakistan.
The success of his Hindi films in Pakistan demonstrates the popularity of Indian cinema.
Pakistani audiences have consistently shown strong interest in Bollywood productions across multiple decades.
The cultural connection between India and Pakistan through cinema remains quite significant.
Emraan Hashmi continues to promote Awarapan 2, the sequel to his 2007 cult film.
The original Awarapan became a cult classic that resonated deeply with audiences everywhere.
The sequel is scheduled for release on August 14, 2026, in theatres worldwide.
Ahead of the release, he shared a nostalgic collage of his transformations.
The collage showed his look as Shivam Pandit from the original film.
It also displayed his appearance in the upcoming sequel for comparison purposes.
