"he supplied drugs to Bollywood personalities"
On September 18, 2020, the NCB said that it has arrested a drug peddler who has direct connections to Bollywood. The suspect is also associated with other peddlers who have been named in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
A team led by Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede arrested Rahil Vishram at his home in Versova, Mumbai.
The NCB recovered one kilogram of cannabis as well as Rs. 4.5 Lakh (£4,700) in cash from him.
It was reported that Vishram’s name came up during the interrogation of Anuj Keshwani, who was arrested for his alleged links to drug peddlers who used to supply drugs to tragic actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Vishram was arrested following an operation that was carried out on September 17 and went on until the morning of September 18.
He is said to be a leading drug supplier to Bollywood celebrities.
An official said: “Rahil admitted that he supplied drugs to Bollywood personalities and also disclosed the identity of his mentor.
“We are preparing a list of celebrities who were buying drugs from both.”
Zonal Director Wankhede and his team had been investigating the case linked to Rhea Chakraborty and others when they came across details of Vishram.
They found that he was directly connected to the network. They, therefore, decided to carry out a raid at his home.
At his home, they seized high-quality cannabis that is also known as Malana Cream from Himachal Pradesh. They believe that it could be worth around Rs. 3 Crore (£315,000).
They also recovered a sum of cash.
During questioning, Vishram revealed that his boss is associated with the film industry and is one of the biggest suppliers of ‘Malana Cream’ to Bollywood celebrities.
The NCB has now launched a manhunt to arrest Vishram’s boss.
According to reports, the arrest of Vishram’s boss would be a major blow to the narcotics operation in Bollywood.
The ongoing operation conducted by the NCB is connected to the drugs case in which Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and others have been arrested.
The drug peddler is reportedly linked directly to some of the accused currently in custody.
A second operation of drugs being supplied to Bollywood celebrities was busted by the NCB on September 18, 2020.
The banned drugs had been allegedly procured by Showik and Rhea for Sushant.
While pursuing the details on all possible suppliers of banned drugs, Zonal Director Wankhede and his team raided a place in Powai and arrested two suspects.
NCB officers recovered 500 grams of high-quality drugs that were being sold at around Rs. 6,000 (£63) per gram. The drugs have been seized and the suspects are being questioned.
