A drug dealer has lost his girlfriend after being told he “wasted” her life.

Himesh Suri played a key role in the Birmingham-based Flash line, which supplied cocaine and heroin to Aberdeen, Scotland.

He acted under the direction of kingpin Rikardo Reid, a rapper called Stardom who has links to the Johnson Crew, as well as “second-in-command” Joshua Nelson.

Suri admitted two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and one offence of money laundering.

He was jailed for nine months, consecutive to a lengthier jail term he is currently serving for drug dealing.

Harinderpal Dhami, defending, said his client had to “fend for himself” as a young man following the death of his mother while his father battled a drug addiction.

He said: “The cost of the funeral was left to him. He became embroiled with those he associated with and the opportunity was presented to him.”

Mr Dhami said Suri was left in debt after being previously jailed for drug-related offences and returned to dealing as he had “no light at the end of the tunnel”.

He said: “He accepts now with the benefit of hindsight he has made errors of judgment and made decisions which effectively mean he has spent most of his 20s behind bars.

“He is not an unintelligent man. He wishes to express remorse, not for himself, he accepts he is the author of his own misfortune.

“He accepts the consequences of peddling Class A drugs. He understands his own immature need doesn’t justify his decision-making.”

Revealing that his girlfriend has left Suri, Mr Dhami added:

“His long-term relationship has come to an end. She, primarily through her family, said: ‘You are going to prison for longer’.

“Her parents told him: ‘This is quite a destructive influence on our daughter. She has opportunities. She is a professional and having wasted a lot of her life with you they don’t think it’s something she should continue with’.

“To his credit, he hasn’t fought or kicked back against the stance of the family.

“He wishes to apologise through the court.”

The Flash line operated between 2017 and 2022.

In 2018, police were able to disrupt the enterprise but the mobile number was “swiftly” replaced by a new one.

Five others were sentenced:

  • Rikardo Reid, aged 34, from Sutton Coldfield, admitted two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and one count of money laundering. He was sentenced to 12 years and nine months.
  • Joshua Nelson, aged 35, from Walsall, admitted four counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, one count of money laundering and one offence of affray. He was sentenced to 12 years and ten months.
  • Mickel Gardner, aged 40, occasionally held the drugs line and allowed his address in Erdington to be used as a safehouse. He admitted two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and was sentenced to five years.
  • Cree Dacres, aged 29, from Sutton Coldfield, was a courier for the drugs and later profits and pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and one charge of money laundering. She was sentenced to three years and five months.
  • Ian Massie, aged 41, from Aberdeen, was the Scottish-based distributor for the line and was found guilty of two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and one charge of money laundering after a trial. He was sentenced to 11 years and six months.
