"She is my sister. My family has come here today."
For the first time ever, Diljit Dosanjh introduced his mother and sister to his fans.
The popular Punjabi singer performed in Manchester on September 28, 2024, as part of his Dil-Luminati Tour.
When it comes to his personal life, Diljit is very private.
But he surprised the Manchester crowd whilst performing his emotional hit ‘Haas Haas’.
In a viral moment, Diljit walked towards a woman in the front row.
As he sang the lyrics, “Dil tenu de ditta main taan soneya. Jaan tere kadma ch rakhi hoyi ae”, Diljit announced:
“By the way, this is my mom.”
Diljit affectionately raised her hand in the air and bowed.
The gesture brought tears to his mother’s eyes as they embraced. Meanwhile, the audience clapped and cheered.
Diljit then bows to another woman standing next to his mother and adds:
“She is my sister. My family has come here today.”
The sister then waves to the crowd.
The emotional moment garnered praise on social media as one said:
“What a wholesome moment.”
Another commented: “From the heart to the stage! Diljit introduces the pillars of his life, his mother and sister.”

It was a big moment for Diljit Dosanjh as he usually keeps his family out of the spotlight.
Fellow Punjabi star Ammy Virk previously said:
“If we look at Diljit Pajji’s point of view, it is his private matter. It is his family. There must be a reason that he isn’t introducing them to the world.
“I also have a wife and a daughter. Even I do not want them to come out in public. They also do not want it.”
“For now, they can roam around anywhere and nobody knows they are my Ammy’s family or Diljit’s family. If people know, they (families) will be troubled.”
In April 2024, Diljit revealed that his parents sent him to live with his uncle without his consent.
He said: “I was eleven years old when I left my home and started living with my maternal uncle.
“I came to the city leaving my village behind. I shifted to Ludhiana. He said, ‘Send him to the city with me’ and my parents said, ‘Yes, take him’.
“My parents did not even ask me.
“I used to stay alone in a small room. I used to just go to school and come back, there wasn’t any TV.
“I had a lot of time. Also, we didn’t have mobile phones back then, even if I had to call home or receive a call from my parents, it cost us money. So I started becoming distant from my family.”
