First trailer in the world to achieve 10 million
The trailer of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film, Dil Bechara (2020), has broken an important YouTube record.
Dil Bechara’s (2020) trailer released on 6 July 2020. It has become the first-ever film trailer to receive over 10 million likes on the popular video-sharing site.
The film’s director, Mukesh Chhabra and leading actress Sanjana Sanghi both shared the significant news.
Mukesh and Sanjana took to their respective Instagram accounts to share a post by ‘boxofficestats’ which read:
“Dil Bechara trailer become the first trailer in the world to achieve 10 million / 1 crore likes on YouTube.”
Previously, the trailer of Dil Bechara (2020) had broken another YouTube record for the most-liked video in 24 hours of release.
It was viewed over 70 million times in less than 10 days.
Currently, the most-liked video on the video-sharing platform is the hit song, ‘Despacito’ (2019) by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee. The video stands at more than 38 million likes.
The coming-of-age film, Dil Bechara (2020) marks the directorial debut of Mukesh Chhabra.
The film is the Bollywood adaptation of John Green’s 2012 popular novel, ‘The Fault in Our Stars.’
Dil Bechara (2020) stars the late Sushant Singh Rajput and debutante Sanjana Sanghi.
The film revolves around Kizie Basu (Sanjana Sanghi) who is battling thyroid cancer and Immanuel Rajkumar Junior, known as Manny (Sushant) a survivor of osteosarcoma.
Initially, Kizie decides to distance herself from Manny, however, the pair eventually fall in love.
Unfortunately, Kizie’s health deteriorates. Yet, Manny is adamant to fulfil her last wish of visiting Paris.
The film’s release has been delayed several times firstly, due to post-production delays and then the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
Shortly, after the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput on 14 June 2020, it was revealed that Dil Bechara will release on Disney+ Hotstar on 24 July 2020.
Fans of the star began urging everyone to show their support for Dil Bechara (2020) by liking the trailer.
Commenting on the trailer, one user wrote: “He deserved this love he is getting after his death.”
Another said: “This movie will be worlds most money maker and blockbuster movie.”
Sushant tragically committed suicide after six months of depression. Since his unfortunate demise, many stars have highlighted the dark side of Bollywood.
In particular, the nepotism debate has caused controversy with many Bollywood stars sharing their point of view on the matter.
