"Your heart is so naive that it forgets to stay loyal."
Choreographer and social media influencer Dhanashree Verma has released a new music video, ‘Dekha Ji Dekha Maine’.
The song, backed by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, portrays Dhanashree as a woman facing domestic violence and infidelity in her marriage.
The music video came out on the same day Dhanashree was granted a divorce from Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal.
While Dhanashree Verma has not commented on the song’s concept, the visuals and lyrics suggest a hard-hitting narrative.
Sung by Jyoti Nooran and composed by Jaani, the track’s lyrics paint a stark picture of betrayal, possibly highlighting what Dhanashree experienced during her marriage.
One line states: “Dekha ji dekha maine, apno ka rona dekha. Gairon ke bistar pe, apno ka sona dekha (I saw my own people crying. I saw my own sharing a bed with others).”
Another reads: “Dil tera bacha hai, nibhana bhool jata hai. Naya khilauna dekh ke, purana bhool jata hai (Your heart is so naive that it forgets to stay loyal. The moment it finds a new toy, it forgets about the old one).”
Set in Rajasthan, the video features Dhanashree alongside actor Ishwak Singh, known for Pataal Lok.
The two play a royal couple, with Ishwak’s character depicted as an abusive husband.
In one scene, he slaps his wife in front of a friend. In another, he is seen being intimate with another woman in her presence.

Describing her role as deeply emotional, Dhanashree said:
“This was one of the most emotionally charged performances I’ve been a part of.
“Every actor always wants to showcase their ability while playing such a character, and this one demanded a certain level of intensity when it came to performance.
“It has been a pleasure to shoot with the T-Series team, and everyone has put in tremendous effort. I hope it resonates just as deeply with the audience.”
On the same day as the song’s release, Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal were officially granted their divorce.
The couple, who married in December 2020, had been living separately for 18 months before filing a joint petition in February 2025.
Their relationship, which began in 2020 when Yuzvendra signed up for Dhanashree’s dance classes, blossomed into a whirlwind romance.
They got engaged within months and married in a grand ceremony in Gurgaon.
However, by 2023, cracks in their marriage became public, with reduced social media interactions and cryptic posts fueling speculation. Towards the end of that year, Yuzvendra deleted photos of Dhanashree from his social media, and the two unfollowed each other.
The divorce was finalised on March 20 after the couple’s petition for a waiver of the mandatory six-month cooling-off period was approved by the court.
With Dhanashree Verma’s music video depicting a story of betrayal and suffering, its release alongside her divorce has intensified discussions online.
