users would spend an hour and a half on chat.

A survey has revealed the Indian city where people are most likely to cheat.

Gleeden is the first extra-marital app and it was launched in India in 2017.

It has quickly become a popular app in the country, with around 800,000 subscribers.

In recent years, infidelity has been explored as a subject in greater detail in Bollywood films so it would be assumed that cheating is most prevalent in Mumbai.

But according to Gleeden, the “infidelity capital” of India is actually Bengaluru.

Approximately 135,000 Bengaluru citizens registered on the site in 2020, the highest for any city.

Of the figure, approximately 91,800 were men and 43,200 were women.

The survey revealed that users would spend an hour and a half on chat.

Meanwhile, the most active times for users were between 12 pm and 3 pm and between 10 pm and midnight.

According to the survey, male users would seek women aged between 24 and 30 and be open to any experience.

Female users preferred older men between 31 and 40 and would opt for virtual exchanges as they searched for “excitement and freedom” outside their marriage.

Long working hours, frequent business trips, and residents’ being more tech-savvy than other cities may be some of the reasons why Bengaluru has earned its reputation as India’s cheating capital.

Marketing Specialist for Gleeden Solene Paillet said:

“It won’t be wrong if we call Bengaluru the ‘infidelity capital’ of India.

“Out of the total number of subscribers on Gleeden, 27% of the total active users are from Bengaluru and the men to women ratio is 32%:68%.”

The next most promiscuous city was Mumbai. This was followed by Kolkata, New Delhi, and Pune.

It comes after a Gleeden survey revealed that 55% of married Indians have cheated on their spouses at least once.

The survey also revealed that among the unfaithful Indians, 56% are women.

In fact, 48% of Indians believe it is possible to be in love with two people at the same time, while 46% think that one can cheat on their partner while still being in love with them.

This research was conducted among 1,525 Indian married individuals between the ages of 25 and 50, across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

Despite India’s cheating prevalence, Gleeden’s survey reported that India’s divorce rate is the lowest in the world at one per cent, where out of every 1,000 couples, only 13 split up.

Ninety per cent of Indian marriages are still arranged by families while there are just five per cent of love marriages.

The survey showed that 49% of married people in India admitted to having an intimate relationship with someone other than their spouse, while almost 5 out of 10 have already indulged in casual sex (47%) or one-night stands (46%).

When it comes to infidelity, Indian women are the most uninhibited.

According to the survey, 41% of Indian women admitted to having regular sex with someone other than their spouse, compared to 26% of men.
