A new summon has been issued for Karishma Prakash.

Deepika Padukone’s manager, Karishma Prakash remains untraceable despite being summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

The NCB is currently investigating the Bollywood drug nexus since it emerged during the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

Sushant tragically died on June 14, 2020, after reportedly hanging himself at his residence in Bandra.

A probe into his untimely death led to the revelation of many of Bollywood’s dark secrets coming to light, namely its link to drugs.

On Tuesday, 27 October 2020, the NCB conducted a raid at Deepika’s manager’s residence in Mumbai.

The agency detained approximately 1.8 grams of Hashish and bottles of CBD Oil from Karishma Prakash’s home.

It was reported that Prakash had been summoned for a second time on Wednesday, 28 October 2020 by the NCB concerning her link to Bollywood’s drug nexus.

According to NCB sources, a notice was posted on her door ordering her to appear for questioning because she was not at home.

However, Karishma Prakash has failed to appear before the agency for questioning.

As a result of this lack of cooperation, a new summon has been issued for Karishma Prakash. It has been handed over to her mother, Mitakshara Purohit and sent to her workplace, Kwan Talent Management.

Speaking to IANS, an NCB official said:

“It is true that Prakash has gone untraceable after being summoned for questioning.”

Deepika Padukone’s manager was first linked to the case when the Republic Media Network revealed the drug chats between the actress and her manager in September 2020.

In the chats, Deepika Padukone was asking Prakash for “maal” and “hash” both of which are illegal in India.

In response to the actress’ request, her manager said she had the drugs at her residence.

It is believed that the unearthed chats are from 2017 and taken from a WhatsApp group called “DP+KA+KWAN.” Shortly after, the NCB found that Deepika Padukone was the group’s admin.

This led to the actress being interrogated by the NCB for approximately five hours for her role in procuring drugs.

Subsequently, Karishma Prakash was probed for her role in supplying drugs.

These are not the only names to be linked to the drugs investigation by the agency. Other names include Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rhea Chakraborty.

The latter was arrested after evidence was found against the actress and her brother, Showik Chakraborty.

The pair were arrested for procuring drugs, however, Rhea was granted bail last month.

As of yet, we wait to see whether Karishma Prakash responds to the summon and appears for questioning.
