Bollywood stars pay tribute to NBA superstar Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. Their untimely death has shocked the world, with everyone devastated by the news.

On Sunday, January 26, 2020, the world lost one of the finest basketball players to ever hit the court.

The five-time NBA champion played for the Los Angeles Lakers for his entire 20-year career. The legend retired from the game in 2016.

It was reported Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other passengers were on board his private helicopter, which crashed in Southern California.

Following the tragic news, fans from across the world have been paying tribute to the 41-year-old star.

A host of Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Karan Johar have taken to social media to mourn the unfortunate death of Kobe Bryant.

Akshay Kumar penned a touching tribute to Kobe on Twitter along with a picture of the legend kissing his daughter. He said:

“Speechless, the world has lost a Legendary Athlete, R.I.P The #BlackMamba of Basketball, Kobe Bryant & his daughter, Gianna.

“What u have done for so many kids including my niece whom you inspired to play basketball every day of her childhood, may u both comfort each other in heaven.”

Abhishek Bachchan also took time out to honour Kobe by posting his thoughts on social media, with the caption reading: “#MondayMotivation #RIPKobeBryant.” The quote read:

“Pain doesn’t tell you when you ought to stop. Pain is the little voice in your head that tries to hold you back because it knows if you continue, you will change – Kobe Bryant (1978-2020).”

Bollywood actor and director, Farhan Akhtar expressed his condolences for Kobe’s family on Twitter:

“What a tragedy. #KobeBryant. #GiannaBryant RIP. Deepest condolences to his family and wish them strength at this time of unimaginable grief @kobebryant.”

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is not familiar with the sport or Kobe Bryant, also shared a heartfelt note on Twitter:

“I didn’t follow the sport and can’t claim to have known too much about him … but this untimely death of a father and daughter just breaks my heart … I hope the universes give strength to his family, friends and fans across the world.”

Bollywood legend, Anupam Kher referred to Kobe Bryant as a legend who will never be forgotten. Along with a photo of the father and daughter, he said:

“‘Heroes come and go. But legends are forever!’ Kobe Bryant #OmShanti.”

Arjun Kapoor took to Instagram to share a piece of artwork of the NBA star with the caption: “Life is fickle, it all eventually feels kind of pointless. R.I.P @Kobebryant.”

Actor Ranveer Singh also took to Instagram to pay tribute to Kobe Byrant. He shared a picture of the legend aiming for the hoop.

He captioned it: “#rip #kobe Mamba Forever.”
