"I would love to go back there."
Mexican actor Barbara Mori has expressed her eagerness to return to Bollywood nearly two decades after her debut in Kites opposite Hrithik Roshan.
When asked whether she would consider doing another Bollywood project, Mori did not hesitate.
She said: “So, I would love to go back there and do so much fun stuff. Of course.”
Mori made her Bollywood debut in the 2010 film Kites alongside Hrithik Roshan and left a lasting impression on Indian audiences.
She is currently leading Apple TV’s Spanish-language crime drama Las Azules alongside Ximena Sariana in its highly anticipated second season.
The series follows four women who join Mexico’s first female police force in the 1970s as they navigate a deeply patriarchal system.
Season 2 sees the women confronting a deeper and more complex mystery while continuing to face the systemic challenges of their environment.
Sariana, who stars alongside Mori in the series, also warmly endorsed the idea of her co-star returning to Bollywood.
She said: “Obviously, it would be amazing. From what I’ve heard from Barbara’s experience, it was a lot of fun to do.”
While a Bollywood return remains a future possibility, the two actors have spent two seasons building a compelling and deeply felt partnership on screen.
Their on-screen chemistry has become one of the most celebrated and emotionally resonant aspects of Las Azules for its growing audience.
Mori revealed that the bond between herself and Sariana developed naturally and organically from their very first day together on set.
She said: “Since the beginning of the first season, we were getting along together so well.
“Obviously, with time passing by, now we are much closer friends, and we really love each other and admire each other and respect not just us, but everyone in the crew and the cast.”
She further added: “Everyone is so committed to the show because the show really touches the deepest wounds inside of the human.
“So it’s really beautiful to work together.”
That bond carries particular weight in Season 2, where the characters are not just fighting an external system but questioning their own identities.
Las Azules also goes by the English title Women in Blue and continues to draw audiences through its powerful and emotionally grounded storytelling.
Barbara Mori’s potential Bollywood return remains one of the more exciting prospects for Indian cinema fans who remember her fondly from Kites.
