He unnamed individual wrote that he spent five months in prison because of Riya Barde.
The man met her in August 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic and due to the lockdown, it was difficult for Barde to travel from Navi Mumbai.
Barde allegedly asked the man if she could stay at his place as she was struggling financially and could not afford a taxi.
The messages detailed: “We became close and eventually started a relationship.
“I decided to move to Rajasthan for a job in 2021 even though we were still in a relationship.
“While I was away, I found out that she cheated on me with another man.
“She even reset my phone to hide her actions and threatened to file a complaint against me if I left her.”
The man then went on to explain how he discovered the Bangladeshi woman’s history of prostitution and her illegal stay in India.
The message continued: “She threatened to file a false rape case against me if I didn’t marry her.
“Despite my efforts to seek help from the police and authorities, no action was taken.
“In May 2022, she followed through on her threat and filed a rape case against me leading to my arrest and time in jail.
“After getting bail, I struggled with my mental health and even attempted suicide.
“I sought help from a psychiatrist and have been trying to seek justice.
“I attend all court dates and remain hopeful for a resolution to this unjust situation.”
The journalist wrote alongside the post: “She made an innocent spend five months in jail for a crime he did not do.
“He was shattered and hopeless when he reached out to me.”
“It took months and I tried, tried, and tried. At one point even I lost hope.
“But finally, some sense of justice for him today.”
