"He started addressing me as ‘babe’ and ‘baby’."
A rape case has been registered against Sajjan Jindal at the BKC Police Station.
An actress claimed the incident took place in January 2022 in a penthouse atop JSW Group’s head office at the Bandra-Kurla Complex.
The actress also claimed officers ignored her initial complaint earlier in 2023 and she was forced to approach the court, which ordered the police to register the complaint.
The woman said she first met the billionaire in October 2021 in Dubai. They were in the VIP box of an IPL match.
They met again in Jaipur, attending the wedding of MP Praful Patel’s son.
After a meeting in Mumbai, Jindal allegedly began putting his hands on the woman and eventually forced himself on her.
In her complaint, the woman said:
“We had exchanged numbers and met in Mumbai because he had expressed interest in buying property from my brother who is a real estate consultant in Dubai.
“He started addressing me as ‘babe’ and ‘baby’, and described all the problems in his marriage when we first met alone, which made me very awkward.”
She also claimed that Jindal’s hugs and flirting made her feel uncomfortable.
They continued to message one another and despite being married, Jindal allegedly expressed romantic feelings for the woman.
She continued: “He also tried to kiss me and talked about getting physically intimate, which I shot down, saying that could happen only after we were married.”
In January 2022, the actress visited JSW Group’s headquarters for a meeting.
Sajjan Jindal took her to the penthouse.
According to the actress, when she refused Jindal’s sexual advances, he raped her.
The woman said that after the alleged rape, she tried to maintain a friendship with Jindal but he stopped responding to her messages and later blocked her number.
She said: “Before blocking my number in June 2022, he threatened me with dire consequences if I approached the police.”
The complainant filed a written complaint with the BKC Police in February 2023.
However, officers did not consider her complaint, forcing her to approach the court.
Based on her allegations, Sajjan Jindal was booked under Sections 376 (rape), 354 (assault or use of criminal force on a woman, intending to outrage her modesty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
A police spokesperson said: “Further investigation on the matter is underway.”
