Ajith Kumar, the popular star of Kollywood, is set to team up with renowned filmmaker Vignesh Shivan for his 62nd film.
The highly anticipated project, which has been tentatively titled AK62, is set to start rolling soon.
According to reports, the yet-to-be-titled film is said to be a comedy thriller, that will feature Ajith Kumar in a never-seen-before role.
Now, the latest reports regarding the project’s cast have set social media on fire.
If the recent reports are to be believed, renowned Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been roped in to play the female lead in the film.
According to reports, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was impressed by the storyline and her character in the film and is set to sign the dotted line.
The makers are also planning to announce a massive update during the official launch of the project.
Sources close to the development of the project suggest that the film will have two heroines.
An earlier report mentioned that Ponniyin Selvan: I actress Trisha Krishnan will be reuniting with Ajith Kumar for the much-awaited project.
There were also details that actor Arvind Swamy, who is known for his exceptional performances as an actor and dubbing artist, has been roped in to play the lead antagonist in AK62.
The other cast members include Santhanam and Arjun Das, and the makers are yet to finalise the rest of the supporting cast.
Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the music for the film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

It will be his reunion with leading man Ajith Kumar after Vivegam, and with director Vignesh Shivan after the much-loved Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
Further, Netflix has bagged the streaming rights to many popular upcoming Tamil films, including Ajith Kumar’s yet-to-be-titled film.
Recently, Netflix India South tweeted: “We tried to stay CHILLA CHILLA but we just CANNOT!
“#AK62 is coming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada as a post-theatrical release.”
Besides AK62, the streaming giant also owns the streaming rights to Chandramukhi 2 and three other upcoming Lyca productions.
Other big films include Dhanush’s Vaathi and Vikram’s Thangalaan.
Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar’s latest release Thunivu has turned out to be the biggest box-office hit of his career.
The film entered the Rs 100 crore club this weekend even after it clashed with Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu.
