Magizh Thirumeni will be directing AK62.

After the success of Thunivu, Ajith Kumar’s next film, tentatively titled AK62, was supposed to start in February 2023.

However, according to the latest reports, the film, which was supposed to be directed by Vignesh Shivan has been put on hold.

Reports suggest that AK62 will not be directed by Vignesh Shivan, and the actor is reportedly keen to get another director on board.

Although there is no confirmation yet, directors like Atlee, Vishnu Vardhan, and Magizh Thirumeni are being considered to helm AK62.

According to one report, director Magizh Thirumeni will be directing AK62 for Lyca Productions.

The reason for the sudden change of AK62 is not known, however, it is also said that Vignesh Shivan’s film has only got postponed and not shelved.

After AK62, there are chances Ajith will act in Vignesh Shivan’s film.

There are also rumours that Ajith was not happy with the script given by Vignesh Shivan and had requested changes.

Another set of rumours claims that to stand up to the hype of Thalapathy Vijay’s Thalapathy 67 with Lokesh Kanagaraj, Ajith wanted to get a big director to direct his next.

On the other hand, #JusticeForVignesShivan is trending on Twitter regarding Ajith’s change of directors for AK62.

One user wrote, “Need Justice,” while another person commented that they are disappointed with Ajith’s action.

Many netizens on social media called it unfair.

Meanwhile, neither Ajith’s team nor Vignesh Shivan has responded to the rumours yet.

Ajith Kumar recently flew to London and the news broke out on January 28 that AK62 was not happening with Vignesh.

He reportedly had a meeting with Lyca Productions.

Now, amid the speculations, Vignesh has posted a video from Canary Wharf in London.

There are also reports that Vignesh flew to the city to speak with Ajith Kumar.

Earlier, there were reports that Ajith Kumar and Vignesh Shivan’s highly anticipated project will start rolling only by the third week of February in Mumbai.

Even though the real reason behind the delay in shooting is yet to be revealed, rumours suggest that the pre-production works of AK62 are not finished yet.

Vignesh Shivan has directed films like Podaa Podi, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, and Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, among others.

Ajith’s last film Thunivu revolved around a bank robbery and featured Manju Warrior in a prominent role.
