"Justice will prevail, and I will be revealing everything soon"
Azan Aswad Haroon has claimed that Nazish Jahangir assaulted her and tried to murder her as well.
A Lahore sessions court dismissed Nazish Jahangir’s petition for interim bail after she failed to appear in court.
This decision came in the wake of a First Information Report (FIR) filed against her by fellow actress Azan Aswad Haroon.
She accused the actress of assault and attempted murder.
The FIR invokes Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code – pertaining to cheating and inducing the delivery of property.
It alleged that Jahangir borrowed Haroon’s car and Rs. 2.5 million (£6,700) under the pretence of financing a project.
But according to Haroon, she has not returned either the car or the money even after six months.
Haroon claimed that Jahangir arranged to meet her at a farmhouse to return the car’s papers but failed to show up.
Instead, she allegedly sent a man named Sikandar Khan, who threatened her with a weapon.
The FIR detailed that Khan allegedly warned Haroon that she would be killed if she attempted to contact Jahangir again.
Haroon has requested police protection and the return of her belongings.
Taking to Instagram, Haroon expressed her determination to seek justice, stating:
“Justice will prevail, and I will be revealing everything soon, how this fraudster actress manipulates, scams, and targets young actors or entrepreneurs to loot financial benefits from them and in return decides to ruin their career, threaten, blackmail, and harass them.
“Have been under extreme stress for many months, the time has come to raise our voices now, despite that she has tried to threaten me in every manner possible.
“But I reside and stand with truth, so I have no fear.”
Reposting a post from Dawn Images, she wrote:
“Nazish assaulted me and attempted to murder me with weapons on a farmhouse in Lahore, even after filing the FIR the threats did not stop.”
In response to the allegations, Jahangir filed a petition for pre-arrest bail.
She claimed the FIR was lodged with “malafide intention and for ulterior motives just to humiliate and harass the petitioner”.
The actress argued that her arrest would lead to public humiliation.
Despite her efforts, the court dismissed her bail petition due to “non-prosecution,” noting that no one appeared on her behalf. This was despite repeated calls for representation.
Both Jahangir and Haroon appeared together in the 2023 telefilm Aatish-e-Ishq, alongside Saba Faisal.
