"Palak has been put under tremendous mental pressure"
Palak Sindhwani, known for her role as Sonu Bhide in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has made allegations against the show’s production team.
She has claimed they threatened her and contributed to her having a panic attack while on set.
In a detailed statement, Palak described her experience of mental harassment and exploitation.
Her four-page statement outlined nine key points, revealing that the makers pressured her to continue filming despite her deteriorating health.
The statement read: “Due to the harassment, Palak has been put under tremendous mental pressure which has further aggravated her health condition.”
The statement mentioned that her doctor had advised her to take strict rest on September 19, 2024.
However, she claimed the production house insisted she kept working, subjecting her to what she described as “inhumane treatment”.
Palak further alleged that during a meeting on September 18, the production representatives threatened to “ruin her career”.
Furthermore, according to her claims, they even threatened to disable her social media accounts.
The actress noted that she had already expressed her intention to leave the show in August 2024.
However, in response, the production team raised unfounded objections regarding her endorsements. They accused her of breaching her contract.
The statement detailed: “Since Palak already intimated her intention to terminate the said agreement and quit the said serial in August 2024 itself.
“The representatives of the production house, during a meeting held on September 18, 2024, with Palak raised for the very first time false, frivolous, baseless and untenable objection/contentions that Palak’s endorsements/advertisements amounts to the breach of the said agreement, which is incorrect.”
She also accused the makers of “torturing” her with baseless claims about contract violations while failing to pay her outstanding dues.
Palak claimed that the amount surpasses Rs. 21 lakhs (£18,700).
The statement emphasised:
“This shows that the production house is in breach and not Palak.”
These allegations come shortly after Neela Films, the production company behind TMKOC, released a statement that levelled accusations against Palak Sindhwani.
They claimed the actress secured third-party endorsements without their consent.
In her defence, Palak asserted that the makers were aware of her social media brand endorsements.
She alleged that they had not previously objected until she announced her resignation.
Palak Sindhwani accused them of applying pressure to make her exit from the show as difficult as possible.
