Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular TV shows in India and it is possible that actor Kal Penn may get a role.
The show has been in the headlines over when Disha Vakani will return. The actress, who plays Daya Ben, has been on maternity leave.
Reports about her return or if Ami Tridevi is replacing her has been circulating.
While fans are waiting to find out what will happen next, Kal Penn has expressed his desire to work on the show.
The actor, who is known for his role as Kumar Patel in the Harold & Kumar series took to Twitter to share a video.
He posed as a fictional Gujarati sketch character called Ladies Bhai and captioned the clip:
“Meet Ladies Bhai: an old ridiculous Gujarati sketch character with a great shirt.”
Penn portrayed himself as a boastful man bragging about a kiss he shared with his next-door neighbour.

Fans instantly started suggesting that Ladies Bhai must be included in Hindi television’s longest running show.
One fan had asked him to be one the show to which the actor replied:
“You joke but this has legit been a goal.”
The show’s producer Asit Modi quickly came on board with the idea and wrote:
“Sir, please please come to our Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah show.
“We will be happy to host you on your show and would love to work with you.”
Asit then went on to write: “Kalpen bhai! Great to hear from you, I already have an empty flat beside Jethalal’s in Gokuldham so you’re always welcome… In case, tame tamara Harold ne laavo toh Harold and Kumar’s Pravaas to Gokuldham’ toh huj produce karis!”
Munmun Dutta, who plays Babita Ji in the show, soon took notice and requested Kal to be on the show.

Asit even went on to say:
“I will be happy to have him on board, even if it’s for a few episodes. I have asked him to DM his contact number to me.”
“I will take it forward from there.”
Asit went on to praise the actor’s comedic abilities.
“He is an effortless actor with perfect comic timing. Taarak Mehta is all about the story, timing and response to other co-actors.”
While Kal Penn filmed himself performing an Indian sketch and said that it has been a goal to be on the show, it may happen after the attention it received.
