"People need to understand their limits."
Shraddha Kapoor is one of Bollywood’s most popular actresses.
She recently garnered fame via her role in Stree 2 (2024), which made her shine like never before.
It came as no surprise that during the euphoria of the film, fans were eager to meet the star.
However, a video on Reddit showed Shraddha Kapoor allowing a bouncer to shove a fan out of her way.
The actress was seen walking through a crowd of fans with their phones out as they clicked pictures.
At the beginning of the clip, one fan advanced towards Shraddha.
The bouncer violently pushed the fan back and the person tumbled backwards.
Shraddha’s entourage made way for her as she continued walking without acknowledging what happened.
Despite the negative picture of the video, users on Reddit defended Shraddha Kapoor.
One said: “He got too close. People need to understand their limits.
“If you get that close without asking, you deserve to be yanked.”
Another person commented: “Um, he was running towards her ignoring her personal space and the lines set up.
“He clearly intended to make physical contact. The bouncer did his job.”
A third user wrote: “The guy was not even in her line of sight.
“He had been thrown away even before Shraddha could see him.”
This is not the first time that people accompanying Bollywood celebrities have got violent with fans.
In 2016, Akshay Kumar publicly apologised after his bodyguard punched a fan who attempted to take a selfie with the actor.
Akshay said: “What happened that day was unfortunate and uncalled for.
“I was at the airport, and I heard a commotion which made me turn around. I didn’t notice anything wrong so I walked on.
“It was later brought to my notice that my bodyguard had punched a fan.
“I have reprimanded him and given him a strict warning for the same. My sincere apology to the fan who was hurt.
“I hold my fans in the highest regard and such incidents are always upsetting.”
“I will ensure such a scenario is avoided in the future.”
Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor played the titular character in Stree 2. The film was an extension to Stree (2018).
The film was a colossal blockbuster. It has currently earned over Rs 855 crores (£76 million) at the box office.
Stree 2 also starred Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Pankaj Tripathi.
