it will encourage members of these communities to participate
Kiss Records have compiled a video in a bid to get more people from BAME communities, especially UK South Asians vaccinated.
This comes after it was revealed that a large proportion of BAME people have been refusing to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
This is due to the circulation of fake news and misinformation about the vaccine.
There have been false claims that the vaccine contains alcohol or meat products, therefore, deterring people from taking the vaccine.
As a result, politicians and people in the healthcare sector have stated that they are struggling to get the BAME communities to take the vaccine.
Now, Kiss Records have compiled a video featuring 24 politicians, radio presenters and actors from the British-Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities.
The intention is that it will encourage members of these communities to participate in the vaccine rollout.
Another video was released by the media featuring a large cast of British Asian actors.
However, Kiss Records released their video as they felt their video would appeal to the Asian community in a way that the other video might not.
The video features the likes of former EastEnders star Ameet Chana, producer Shin Hayer and singer Rameet Sandhu declaring that they will take the Covid-19 vaccine when it is their turn.
In addition, Councillor Rabnawaz Akbar and MP Tan Dhesi also appear in the video in a bid to dispel any fears.
Kiss Records believe that their video will appeal because those who are resisting the vaccine are Asian communities who do not watch the celebrities in the media-promoted video.
The celebrities in Kiss Records’ video are those that people may have more confidence in and may persuade them to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
Well respected South Asian-origin politicians are also part of the appeal to get more UK South Asians vaccinated.
As well as the video, Kiss Records are driving the #LetsVaccinateBritain hashtag as it is a nationwide effort in combatting Covid-19.
Shazad Sheikh, Record Label Head, Kiss Records, exclusively told DESIblitz:
“I feel it’s very important that we recognise that in order to get back to a pre-Covid life which we all crave, there needs to be a concerted effort by the nation.
“We need to dismiss any fears and rumours about the vaccine and try and gains everyone confidence so they can happily go and get vaccinated.
“This can be a simple social media post by anyone in the public which may encourage their friends and family to go and get vaccinated or a video like ours which could appeal to a wider audience.
“We have all seen how the World has succumbed to Covid.”
“It is now time to fight back with the vaccination.”
