Celebrities across Bangladesh have stepped forward after the devastating plane crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka.
From coordinating blood drives to urging public sensitivity, public figures are offering urgent support to victims and families.
Shobnom Bubly posted a message urging the public to stay calm and donate blood.
She wrote: “May the Almighty be our aid. Please protect these innocent children and grant patience to all the parents.
“Those willing to donate blood are requested to go to these hospitals. Please, do not crowd the area unnecessarily.”
Apu Biswas addressed the nation’s heartbreak and called for immediate action:
“These are our children. It is now our collective responsibility to stand by them. There may be an urgent need for blood. Your single donation could save a life.
“Please do not crowd the accident site, and cooperate with the ongoing rescue efforts.”
Singer and media personality Elita Karim actively helped to connect victims and rescue teams.
She wrote: “It would be really helpful and much faster if those in need of blood or ambulances could be directly connected with donors and ambulance providers.”
Her post also included a list of emergency contacts.
Celebrities like Khairul Basar and Ashfaque Nipun used their platforms to bridge gaps between desperate families and volunteer responders.
Ziaul Faruq Apurba requested the public to respect the dignity of the victims. He urged people not to share any videos or photos of the wounded children.
Shakib Khan offered words of comfort. His message read:
“May the Almighty grant swift recovery to the injured and give strength to the families to endure this difficult time.”
Mehazabien Chowdhury and Tasnia Farin also posted appeals for calm and compassion.
Filmmaker Sunny Sanwar reacted strongly to the online spread of misleading visuals. He said:
“We are already in deep shock after hearing about a plane crashing into a school. Don’t add to this trauma.
“And what’s the point of making misleading AI-generated images of the crash? Is this a joke to you? Stop this nonsense.”
Chayanika Chowdhury also made a humble plea for empathy.
“A humble request to everyone, please, do not ask any questions to the parents at this time, and do not post any disturbing or distressing images of the children.
“This is not the time. Please, we urge you.”
Meanwhile, unrest is growing across the capital.
Students from Milestone School and College and nearby institutions protested during an official visit to the plane crash site.
They demanded accurate information and justice, chanting:
“Why did our brothers die? We demand answers!”
Elsewhere, students stormed the federal secretariat gate, some waving sticks and demanding the resignation of the education adviser.
Police used batons, fired tear gas and sound grenades to disperse them.
The crash killed at least 20 people and injured over 100.
