Anzela Abbasi reveals why She Quit Acting f

Anzela Abbasi recently appeared as a guest on Podcast at the Nest and revealed why she stopped acting and switched to music.

During her open conversation with the host, Anzela shared her feelings about Pakistani TV shows.

She said she felt disappointed with the stories in dramas, which is why she left acting.

Anzela explained that she did not like the fact that many dramas focus on family conflicts.

Anzela stated that she wanted to be in roles that matched her artistic style better.

She elaborated further, talking about feeling boxed in by the roles she was offered. She said she didn’t like being stuck playing the same kind of character over and over.

She was usually given the characters like the “nice and simple girl”, which didn’t match who she really was.

Anzela Abbasi wanted to clear up any confusion about how people see her as daring and different.

She explained that she’s not trying to go against what’s normal in society, but she just wants to be herself.

Even though it is not easy dealing with what people expect, she’s learned to accept her unique qualities. She said that she would not let anyone put her in a box.

When asked about the different jobs she’s had in showbiz and what’s most important to her, Anzela talked about her path.

She started as a model and later got into acting because of her family.

But now, she’s focusing on music, which she sees as a way to express herself creatively and find fulfilment.

Many netizens agreed with Anzela’s points.

A user wrote: “She is right, our writers have zero creativity and always have those typical storylines.”

One said: “That’s true. Pakistani viewers WANT women to be innocent and oppressed.

“They can’t get out of this conservative mindset. Good for Anzela that she didn’t stay.”

Another commented:

“She needs to be hired on some Netflix series. There is so much potential going to waste.”

On the other hand, some called her out for being a “nepo baby”.

One person asked: “What has she actually done on her own credit? She got into entertainment because of her family.”

Another said: “No one wanted her in their dramas.

“Nepo roots run deep in Pakistan’s vibrant entertainment world, where talent flows through three generations of her family.”
