Alia Bhatt is set to take the next step of her career with the launch of her own production company.
Called Eternal Sunshine Productions, she hopes to make “happy films under her banner”.
The actress shared the news on social media. Alia wrote:
“And I am so happy to announce… PRODUCTION!!
“Eternal Sunshine Productions. Let us tell you tales. Happy tales. Warm and fuzzy tales. Real tales. Timeless tales. @eternalsunshineproduction.”
Alia also shared the logo of her production company.
Following the news, some of her industry friends sent messages of congratulations.
Filmmaker and mentor Karan Johar wrote: “You go girl.”
Her mother and actress Soni Razdan said: “Congratulations! Super duper proud.”
Celebrity fitness consultant Rujuta Diwekar said: “You go girl!! Congrats!!”
Both Rakul Preet Singh and Zoya Akhtar both sent messages of congratulations along with heart emojis.

In addition to sharing the news, Alia Bhatt also revealed that the first production will be in collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
The film is titled Darlings and it will also star Alia and Shah Rukh, marking their first film together since Dear Zindagi in 2016.
The film is said to be a quirky mother-daughter story, who experience crazy circumstances in life.
On the film’s plot, a source said:
“It’s set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a middle-class family and traces the lives of two women, as they find courage and love in exceptional circumstances.”
On Alia joining the movie, the source added:
“She loved it and instantly came on board the film.”
Announcing her first production, Alia said:
“This one’s special. Announcing Darlings, my first ever production under Eternal Sunshine, in association with my favourite Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.”
The film is set to release sometime in 2021.
Alia Bhatt has experienced a successful week. The teaser for her upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi was released to huge fanfare.
The biographical crime film is based on a chapter from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
It tells the story of Gangubai Kothewali, the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura.
The teaser received immense love and excitement on Twitter from the film fraternity.
Priyanka Chopra tweeted: “Alia!!!! I’m so proud of you my friend for stepping into complexity fearlessly.
“I hope you always keep shining. Presenting- Gangubai Kathiawadi! Congratulations Sanjay sir and team.”
Karan Johar expressed his excitement, saying:
