Akshay Kumar has blamed Kapil Sharma for the box office failure of his recent films.

The Kapil Sharma Show returns for a third season and it will premiere on September 10, 2022.

A new promo video showed glimpses of the first few episodes and one showed Akshay accusing the comedian of jinxing everything he does, including his recent films which have failed at the box office.

Akshay will be a guest on the show promoting his film Cuttputlli, along with his co-star Rakul Preet Singh.

The film was released on Disney+ Hotstar on September 2, 2022.

In a promo shared by Sony, Kapil welcomed Akshay and Rakul to the stage.

The comedian then asked Akshay:

“Brother, how do you turn a year younger on every birthday?”

Akshay replied: “This man jinxes everything I do, my films, my money… now none of my films are working.”

The comment left Kapil and the audience in fits of laughter.

Akshay Kumar surprised his fans when he released the Cuttputlli teaser just a few weeks ago. It was released to negative reviews.

This is his fourth film of 2022 but all have been box office flops.

Akshay’s last theatrical release, Raksha Bandhan, failed at the box office, collecting just Rs. 44 Crore (£4.7 million).

His historical drama, Samrat Prithviraj, also failed to attract audiences, earning approximately Rs. 68 Crore (£7.4 million).

Akshay’s first film Bachchhan Paandey earned just Rs. 50 Crore (£5.4 million) at the box office.

Previously, there had been reports of a feud between Akshay and Kapil.

Reportedly, it all started when Akshay appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show.

During the show, Kapil asked Akshay about an interview he did with a “famous personality”.

Kapil supposedly alluded to an interview that Akshay did with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Akshay went on to challenge Kapil to openly name the personality. However, the comedian tried to change the subject.

This exchange was believed to be the reason for the friction.

According to a source, once filming was over, Akshay demanded the segment to be deleted as it made fun of the PM’s time in office.

Akshay was reportedly upset after a clip of the segment was leaked.

It led to speculation that Akshay was refusing to appear on The Kapil Sharma Show. But it seems that things have been resolved with his appearance on the show.

Meanwhile, Kapil’s show returns after the comedian took a break to shoot for a film. Titled Zwigato, the film features Kapil as a food delivery guy and Shahana Goswami as his wife.

He also went on a North American tour with his team.
