Since tying the knot in 2007, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been one of Bollywood’s most iconic couples.
However, the pair recently found themselves in a spot of legal bother.
Following Aishwarya’s victory in a case regarding AI deepfakes in September 2025, she and Abhishek were allegedly in court again.
The couple reportedly sued YouTube and Google over such videos, in a lawsuit amounting to Rs 4 crores (£3 million).
An official report said: “The actors argue that YouTube’s content and third-party training policies are concerning.
“Such content being used to train AI models has the potential to multiply the instances of use of any infringing content, i.e., first being uploaded on YouTube, being viewed by the public, and then also being used to train.
“AI platforms are trained on biased content that portrays them in a negative manner and infringes their intellectual property rights, then AI models are likely to learn all such untrue information, leading to its further spread.”
In recent years, AI and deepfake material have plagued Bollywood.
Many celebrities found themselves targeted as a result of the rise in deepfakes.
In November 2023, Rashmika Mandanna was one of the first celebrities to find themselves at the centre of such a controversy.
Since then, several actors, including Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Aamir Khan, and Ranveer Singh, have been targeted.
This is not the only controversy to surround Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently.
Once a celebrated couple, rumours surrounding their alleged separation started circulating in 2023.
This kicked off when Aishwarya’s father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan, was reported to have unfollowed the actress on Instagram.
Furthermore, on Aishwarya’s 51st birthday, nobody from the Bachchan family wished her on social media.
Aishwarya and Abhishek first starred onscreen together in Raj Kanwar’s Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke (2000).
This was the first of several collaborations they did together. During the making of Dhoom 2 (2006), they fell in love.
Before their relationship, Aishwarya was in a highly publicised relationship with Salman Khan.
The Devdas star also allegedly had a romantic equation with Vivek Oberoi, although she denied this.
Meanwhile, Abhishek had an aborted engagement with Karisma Kapoor.
Aishwarya was recently in the news when she attended the 2025 Paris Fashion Week.
Netizens praised her when a clip of the actress comforting an emotional fan went viral.
She also gained attention for her selfie with the Bridgerton star Simone Ashley.
