Alia Bhatt admits Ranbir Kapoor is her ‘Biggest Troll’ F

"It has changed after we have had a daughter."

Alia Bhatt has confessed that her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor was never a picture-perfect romance but instead rooted in friendship, respect, and playful trolling.

The actor appeared on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s new talk show Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle alongside Varun Dhawan, where she spoke candidly about married life.

During the conversation, Alia explained that her marriage with Ranbir was never built on rose-tinted ideas of love but on a bond resembling that of best friends.

“Ranbir and I have a natural friendship. It was never this dewy-eyed or rose-tinted glasses sort of relationship. There was always a friendship,” Alia shared.

She further explained: “Of course, I married him for a reason, because he is wonderful to me and as a human being. But the person I troll most is him, and the person who trolls me most is him.”

Alia admitted that Ranbir enjoys playfully teasing her more than anyone else, describing him as her biggest personal troll at home, which keeps their relationship grounded.

Reflecting on what truly sustains their marriage, Alia stressed the importance of respect.

“Because with respect comes all the other things. Whether it’s support or love, respect to me is the most important thing in a marriage.”

Alia also opened up about her choice to have a quiet wedding with Ranbir in April 2022.

Unlike the typical Bollywood extravaganza, the couple opted for an intimate ceremony.

“It’s just who we are. We are homebodies, very socially awkward, and we wanted our closest people with us on our wedding day,” she revealed.

The wedding, held at their Mumbai home, was attended by family and close friends, including Karan Johar, Akash Ambani and filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, who directed them in Brahmastra.

The couple became parents later that year when their daughter Raha was born on November 8, 2022.

Her face was introduced to the world at the Kapoor family’s Christmas luncheon in 2023.

Alia reflected on how becoming parents has transformed their relationship.

“It has changed after we have had a daughter. It’s totally different. We are a unit now, way more than before.”

She even joked about Ranbir’s future as an overprotective father to Raha, saying,

“I can’t imagine it today, but Ranbir will kick any boy that comes to the house.”

Alia also recalled how her father, Mahesh Bhatt, met Ranbir during their dating days and instantly gave his blessings, predicting their strong bond.

On the work front, Ranbir will next star in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two-part Ramayana, also featuring Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol and Lara Dutta, with its first part set for Diwali 2026.

Meanwhile, Alia and Ranbir will reunite on screen alongside Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which is currently in production and expected to be a cinematic spectacle.

Alia also shared the talk show stage with Varun Dhawan, her first co-star in Student of the Year (2012), as the pair reunited onscreen to reflect on their journeys.

Through her honest revelations, Alia showed that her marriage with Ranbir thrives not on dreamy ideals but on humour, respect, and a shared sense of real companionship.
