"I remember this like a horror film."

Pakistani actress and model Ainy Jaffri has come forward with a personal revelation, disclosing that she was abused as a child.

The actress, who now lives abroad with her husband and young son, has recently launched a podcast.

The podcast is trending as she addresses difficult and often taboo subjects.

During a recent episode, Ainy courageously shared her own traumatic story.

She described the harrowing incident that occurred in her grandparents’ house decades ago.

She recalled being lured by the family cook, saying: “When I was 5 or 6, in our house, I was taken by a servant who was a cook at my grandparents’ house.

“We used to live with them. He took me to the servant quarters and he had given me a lollipop or something.

“Why would I follow him? You know I was very young and I remember this like a horror film.”

Recounting the terrifying experience, she continued: “I knew what he was doing was wrong even as a five-year-old.

“But as I was really young, I was not able to say that ‘this is wrong’ and I’m having my lollipop as he is there [molesting] me.

“I guess he was also scared and didn’t want me to scream or anything. So he helped me put my clothes back on and I went back to the house.”

Ainy stressed the importance of speaking up immediately, saying: “Thank God I immediately had the sense to go to my mother and tell her.”

She reflected on the long-lasting impact of the incident, admitting that even years later, she still feels anxiety when revisiting those memories.

Sharing her firm beliefs, Ainy said: “Naming details breaks the shame. The secrecy is what gives predators power. Graphic honesty lessens the weight.

“When it’s spoken out loud, it stops festering in silence and the survivor isn’t left carrying it alone. It normalises disclosure.

“If children especially could say exactly what was done to them, adults would be forced to act not dismiss or minimise.”

Her words have sparked a significant reaction online.

Many social media users are praising her strength and courage in publicly addressing such a painful chapter of her life.

They praised her honesty, with one user commenting: “This is so brave of you to share this painful story.”

One said: “More power to you, Ainy.”

Others emphasised the importance of creating safer environments for children, pointing out that vigilance within households remains crucial.

Her testimony has brought renewed attention to the issue of child abuse, a subject often left unspoken in society.

By openly sharing her story, Ainy Jaffri has helped highlight the importance of dialogue within families and empowering children to report abuse.
