The narrative stakes are incredibly high.
As summer approaches, the gaming world heats up with a slew of highly anticipated releases set to captivate players in June 2024.
From thrilling multiplayer titles to exciting DLCs, this month promises a diverse array of titles that cater to every type of gamer.
There is no denying that one of the biggest June releases is Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
But there are plenty of other AAA video game treats in store.
We look at the most notable AAA releases coming to PC and consoles in June 2024.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape

June 4 – PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC
Destiny 2 players looking for answers and closure to the decade-long story crafted by developer Bungie might finally find it with the arrival of the new expansion.
The Final Shape, set to release on June 4, introduces a brand-new campaign where players must track down and confront the Witness following the events of Lightfall.
The narrative stakes are incredibly high.
This expansion also brings new super abilities for existing subclasses, an entirely new subclass called Prismatic, refreshed maps, gear, weaponry and – perhaps most exciting – a new raid.
Fans are hopeful that The Final Shape will succeed where previous Destiny 2 expansions have fallen short.
Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game

June 4 – PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC
The asymmetrical horror multiplayer genre is currently thriving, with titles like Evil Dead: The Game, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the hugely popular Dead By Daylight.
The latest cult classic to join this trend is Killer Klowns From Outer Space, with its game launching on June 4.
Players can take on the role of various alien clowns, using an array of zany weapons to hunt down their victims.
Fortunately for the humans, they have the advantage of numbers, as Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game features a unique 3-vs-7 setup.
Whether you play as a clown or a human, spooky fun with friends is guaranteed.
Star Wars: Hunters

June 4 – Nintendo Switch
Overwatch 2 meets Star Wars is the concept behind the upcoming hero shooter Star Wars: Hunters, which has been in development for quite some time and is set to release exclusively on Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS.
Featuring an eclectic cast of new bounty hunters spanning all three generations of the franchise, players will discover that each character, from the Wookiee juggernaut to the Jedi droid, offers a unique playstyle.
It’s an unusual but intriguing prospect.
Plus, with Star Wars: Hunters launching as a free-to-play title, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance

June 14 – PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC
Arriving on PC and all major consoles on June 14, this enhanced and definitive edition of the already excellent Shin Megami Tensei 5 gives both new and returning players another reason to dive into the acclaimed Atlus JRPG.
The game has been expanded with a brand-new storyline, the ‘Canon of Vengeance’ route, which introduces never-before-seen demons, areas and choices.
Additionally, the visuals have been upgraded, and the battle system has been completely overhauled for greater accessibility.
Players will get to explore a demon-infested, decimated Tokyo in its best light yet.
Still Wakes the Deep

June 18 – PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC
From the creators of Dear Esther and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture comes Still Wakes the Deep, a first-person exploratory experience that delves into the horror genre.
Set on a remote oil rig off the coast of Scotland, chaos ensues when an otherworldly force is awakened, and you must fight to survive.
Navigate through flooded corridors, confined decks and deepwater pools as you search for other crew members.
If you think you have what it takes to battle the sea itself, find out when Still Wakes the Deep launches on June 18.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

June 21 – PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC
Arguably the biggest release of June 2024 is not even a full game but rather a DLC expansion.
The anticipation for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree cannot be overstated.
Developer FromSoftware has added a wealth of new areas, weapons and bosses to the already epic quest released in 2022.
While the story remains deliberately shrouded in mystery, players are sure to become obsessed once more when the DLC introduces even more dark secrets to uncover on June 21.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD

June 27 – Nintendo Switch
Originally released exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo continues its streak of high-definition remakes in 2024 with Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.
While smaller in scale compared to the GameCube original or the more recent Luigi’s Mansion 3, this adventure is still brimming with charm and family-friendly spooks.
This time, Super Mario’s brother is tasked with exploring the mansions of Evershade Valley, capturing ghosts and restoring peace by collecting parts of the Dark Moon to defeat King Boo.
Players can expect improved graphics alongside the same simple yet satisfying ghost-busting gameplay.
June 2024 is shaping up to be a big month for gamers, with an impressive lineup of new releases catering to a variety of tastes and preferences.
From epic RPG adventures and spine-chilling horror experiences to thrilling action-packed sequels, there’s something for everyone.
Whether you’re looking to explore new worlds, uncover dark secrets or engage in intense battles, these seven games are sure to provide hours of entertainment and excitement.
As the summer kicks off, make sure to mark your calendars and prepare for a gaming month to remember.
