Sonakshi Sinha and her rumoured boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal are reportedly getting married.
Times Now reported that the pair have “locked June 23 as the D-day” and the wedding is likely to take place at a “SoBo hotspot”.
During an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Sonakshi expressed her eagerness to get married.
After Kapil Sharma teased Sonakshi about how Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani are married, Sonakshi replied:
“Please don’t do this. You know how eagerly I want to get married.”
As her marriage rumours gathered momentum, her father Shatrughan Sinha broke his silence on the matter.
Revealing that he has not spoken to anyone about his daughter’s rumoured wedding plans, he said:
“I only know what I’ve read in the news.”
Shatrughan stated that he and his wife Poonam are ready to bless the couple as soon as Sonakshi informs them about her wedding plans, adding:
“We wish her all happiness always.”
However, the actor-politician admitted feeling disheartened about being out of the loop regarding his daughter’s apparent wedding.
He confessed that those close to him are asking why he does not know about her wedding plans while the media seems to know more.
Shatrughan stated:
“All I can say is, nowadays, children don’t seek permission; they simply inform their parents.”
“We are waiting to be informed.”
Sonakshi Sinha’s brother Luv Sinha also addressed the rumoured wedding:
“I’m out of Mumbai at the moment, and if it’s regarding the news published, I have no comment or involvement in the matter.”
Sonakshi and Zaheer are rumoured to have been in a relationship since 2020, however, they have never confirmed or denied it.
In 2022, Zaheer appeared to make their relationship public when he wished Sonakshi a happy birthday.
He shared two videos of the pair and a picture.
Zaheer seemingly confirmed their relationship in the caption, writing:
“Happy Birthday Sonzzz… Thank You for not killing me… I Love You… Here’s to a lot more food, flights, love and laughter.
“P.s – This video sums up the entire time we’ve known each other.”
Sonakshi reciprocated the love and replied:
“Thaaankkk uuu … love uuu … now I’m coming to kill uuuuuuuu.”
Sonakshi and Zaheer shared the screen in the 2022 film Double XL.
They have also been spotted at various events and at dinner together.
