“You have multiple options and it excites you more seeing others have sex whilst you are as well.
“Some people are married and have group sex or a circle of singles will have sex with one another.
“You don’t hear of it on the streets but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening.”
For many in Bangladesh, the allure of group sex lies in the risk of it as well as the ability to explore different sexual partners.
BDSM
Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Submission, and Sadomasochism (BDSM) is the most popular sexual fetish in the world.
It involves restraining a partner with handcuffs, cords, or ties.
However, the act can also involve other costumes and toys such as latex, leather, dildos, whips and blindfolds.
BDSM places an importance on dominance and there is often one individual who takes full control of the sexual experience.
Many may be surprised that it’s Bangladeshi men who often like to be dominated. Rafiqul Islam* from Mymensingh explains:
“There’s something about having your wife or girlfriend take control for once.”
“The men are in charge of the houses in Bangladesh but being sexually dominated is refreshing and I think that’s why so many men enjoy it here.
“Even in India or Pakistan, you’ll find that men are higher in society but prefer to be ‘lower’ in the bedroom.
“Seeing girls enjoy being in control makes you cum even more.”
Often, you’ll find a leading figure taking charge as the ‘master’ and the other as a ‘slave’.
Although BDSM is more hardcore, there always needs to be consent and often, couples will use safe words to let their partner know when to stop.
Maid Sex
Whilst this is catered towards more women dressing up as maids, it’s not completely shocking to know that men also dress up in this costume.

Young Girl
One of the more controversial sexual fetishes in Bangladesh is related to young girls.
Sometimes, elder men are attracted to younger girls, even those that are underage.
There are many brothels within the country where men pay child brides for sex.
Often, these girls are hit with profound poverty and are either groomed or forced to engage in such acts to bring in some type of income.
However, this fetish also involves teenage girls between 18 and 22 years old where older men lust for a more youthful partner.
Ayesha Siddique* from Dhaka revealed:
“You see brothels all the time in the country, but they are quickly hidden when police or tourists are around.
“Men spend a lot of money having sex with younger girls here as it’s a big turn-on for them.”
“I’ve witnessed hundreds of men visiting women 20 or 30 years younger than them to have sex.
“It’s sadder that the women cannot turn them away as they are either raped, punished by their husbands, or lose out on money.”
Bangladesh was in the top 10 of those who searched for “young girl” between 2023 and 2024, as per Google Trends.
Foot Fetish
Foot fetishes in Bangladesh are no exception to being taboo,
Those with foot fetishes find arousal in kissing and sucking toes, pleasuring themselves to videos or photos of feet, or even relish in rubbing someone’s feet after a workout.
For these enthusiasts, bare feet or various types of footwear trigger excitement.
Heels, sandals, boots, or even trainers can make an individual with a foot fetish orgasm.
It’s essential to recognise that foot fetishes, like any other sexual preference, are nuanced expressions of personal fantasies.
Maya Akhtar* from Rangpur, says:
“I’ve sold feet pics before and it’s probably the best way to take advantage of desperate men.
“You don’t show your face, you don’t need to be nude, and you have to do the minimal amount to receive a lot of cash.
“Someone has paid me 3000 BDT (£21) to send them a five-second video of me wiggling my toes. That’s someone’s monthly salary.”
The prevailing stigma surrounding sexual fetishes shows no signs of slowing down.
Whilst these kinks are popular, they are highly ostracised in society. But still, the locals are well aware of how high the sexuality is in the country.
The association of sexuality with shame and dishonour remains a challenge to dismantling societal biases.
However, the imperative to acknowledge and destigmatise these fetishes remains.
