His live schedule has remained sparse since the band’s hiatus.

Zayn Malik has announced a week-long residency in Las Vegas, marking a significant milestone in his career since leaving One Direction in 2015.

The shows will take place in January at Dolby Live, the renowned venue inside the Park MGM Hotel.

Malik revealed the news to fans in an Instagram post.

The residency will see Zayn join a prestigious list of global stars who have performed in Las Vegas, including Adele, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.

While his run is shorter than those established names, many fans believe the announcement signals the start of a bigger comeback for the Bradford-born singer.

Zayn, 32, has only toured solo once before, during his ‘Stairway to the Sky’ shows last year.

His live schedule has remained sparse since the band’s hiatus.

The announcement also comes after Zayn was spotted in the US with former bandmate Louis Tomlinson, igniting speculation of a collaboration or new music.

It is thought to be the first time the two have been seen together in public informally since One Direction’s break-up in 2015.

The only other occasion was at Liam Payne’s funeral last year, making this recent reunion particularly significant for long-time fans of the group.

Adding to his busy schedule, Zayn released a new single, ‘Break Free’, as part of the soundtrack for the much-anticipated video game Borderlands 4.

A confessed lifelong gamer, Zayn told Variety that when he is not working or spending time with his daughter, he is gaming with friends in the UK.

He said that collaborating on the project pushed him outside of his comfort zone but allowed him to explore new sounds both sonically and emotionally.

The singer also hinted at a new career direction, revealing he has been considering launching his own radio show.

Zayn explained he enjoys experimenting with funny voices and light-hearted content, suggesting it would be a fun venture alongside his music.

The residency announcement surprised many, as Zayn has openly spoken about his struggles with live performances and anxiety in the past.

In 2016, he apologised for pulling out of Capital’s Summertime Ball, admitting he was “haunted” by anxiety.

However, more recently, Zayn shared on the Call Her Daddy podcast that becoming a father helped him manage anxiety and overcome stage fright.

His Las Vegas shows are expected to feature songs from all four of his albums, including his latest record Room Under The Stairs, which peaked at number three in May 2024.

Tickets for the residency will go on general sale from Friday, with fans eagerly awaiting what promises to be a career-defining moment.
