It is reported that Allu Arjun will not be joining the cast of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, despite the strong rumours that he would.
Directed by Atlee, the film also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, who is believed to be the antagonist.
The filmmakers had recently approached Allu Arjun for a cameo but the actor turned it down.
A source said that Allu turned down the film for a number of reasons, one of them being Pushpa 2.
The source told Pinkvilla: “The narration happened with the makers but Allu Arjun couldn’t say yes to the film due to his choco block schedule.
“AA has been training rigorously to get into the skin of his character for Pushpa 2: The Rule and for the next few months, he is only going to focus on it.
“Pushpa 2 shoot is underway at a fast pace with two major schedules wrapped in Vizag and Hyderabad.”
The source went on to say that the Jawan role would be a cameo, something Allu found difficult to choose over his lead role in Pushpa.
The source said: “Allu Arjun did take his time to think about Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, where he was offered a small yet impactful role but it’s quite difficult to choose over Pushpa.”
Pushpa director Sukumar is reportedly leaving no stone unturned when it comes to the sequel and is determined to make it a grand spectacle.
The first film was a massive hit in the South Indian and Hindi industries due to its engaging storyline and blockbuster songs.
Fans are expecting big things from Pushpa 2: The Rule, with many demanding frequent updates from the makers.
It is reported that the first teaser will be released on April 8, 2023, to coincide with Allu’s birthday.
The makers are reportedly investing a lot of money into producing a packed teaser as per Sukumar’s requests.
It was previously rumoured that Sukumar started planning for Pushpa 3 and would shoot the second and third instalments simultaneously, but things got delayed. Reports later surfaced that Sukumar is highly focused on writing lyrics and dialogues that can go viral.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is scheduled to release in early 2024.
Allu Arjun was last seen in Pushpa: The Rise opposite Rashmika Mandanna, who will also star in the sequel.
Meanwhile, Jawan is scheduled to release in cinemas later in 2023.
