The annual event lets subscribers see a personalised roundup of their listening habits and Spotify also named the artists who racked up the biggest numbers.

With more than 26.6 billion streams, Taylor Swift was named the global top artist.

But what about Spotify habits in India?

Music streaming in the country has a new high. From Punjabi music to I-Pop, 2024 was a year of diverse sounds and stories.

For the fourth consecutive year, Arijit Singh was India’s most-streamed artist on Spotify.

Songs like ‘Mahiye Jinna Sonha’ by Darshan Raval, ‘Husn’ by Anuv Jain and Jasleen Royal’s ‘Heeriye’ have gone on to become very popular, positioning I-Pop as a mainstay in India’s musical landscape.

When it comes to Spotify’s streaming numbers in India, 2024 was a year where love topped the charts.

The most-streamed song of the year, ‘Pehle Bhi Main’, performed by Vishal-Shekhar for Animal, received over 228 million streams.

This was followed by I-Pop hit ‘Husn’.

It wasn’t limited to just music.

Podcasts, especially those by local creators, made huge waves across India.

Ranveer Allahbadia’s The Ranveer Show was India’s most-streamed podcast of 2024, with the Hindi version in fourth place.

He beat the likes of podcast heavyweight The Joe Rogan Experience.
