In Love Island 2025, Shakira Khan and Emma Munro have been two popular contestants, bringing in the drama for viewers to enjoy.
While 22-year-old Shakira is still currently participating in the show, Emma, aged 30, was eliminated on Day 42.
The pair came to blows in the Love Island villa over Harry Cooksley.
While Emma was Harry’s ex-girlfriend in the show, Shakira has been seen striking up a romance with him.
However, in a recent fan interaction on social media, Emma revealed that she and Shakira found common ground.
A fan asked Emma: “Did you and Shakira ever talk about your Pakistani heritage in the villa?”
Emma replied: “Yes, I love this question because we talked about it all the time.
“We’d shock ourselves at how many similarities we had. It was quite funny.
“One of the first things I said to her was, ‘Do you like curry?’
“Yes, she loves curry. Whenever they’d serve curry, Shakira and I would be the first there to tuck in.
“Weirdly, though, she didn’t like using plates. She would always use a tiny little cereal bowl for all her food.
“It was very bizarre.”
According to Emma, while her father is English, her mother is Pakistani.
Shakira’s mother, Sukina, was previously asked on TikTok about her daughter’s ethnicity.
Sukina replied: “Thank you for asking so politely.
“I can confirm that both myself and my husband are both half Pakistani, half English.
“As a result, Shakira is exactly the same ethnic equation.”
Recently, Shakira’s mother and sister refused to meet Harry in a tense exchange on Love Island.
Sukina said bluntly: “We’re not hugging Harry.”
Meanwhile, Shakira admitted: “I adore him and I really wish I didn’t, that’s the problem.
“It would be easier if I hated him, but I don’t.”
Sukina declared: “What I will say? With him, he can prove himself to you before he has to prove himself to me.”
Shakira then said to Harry privately: “I can’t believe we’re back at day two. Right back to where we started.
“Further back, if that’s even possible. This is no good.”
Shakira Khan has become a fan favourite of Love Island, with many viewers worrying that her emotional state would make her quit the show.
Shakira is from Burnley, Lancashire, while Emma hails from Norwich, Norfolk.
