Vaibhav Gupta from Kanpur was crowned the winner of Indian Idol 14, securing the trophy, a cash prize of Rs 25 Lakh (£24,000) and a car.

The six finalists were Ananya Pal, Anjana Padmanabhan, Adya Mishra, Vaibhav Gupta, Piyush Panwar, and Subhadeep Das Chowdhury.
Shubhadeep Das Chowdhury and Piyush Panwar became first and second runners-up, respectively.
They were awarded with trophies and cheques for Rs 5 Lakh (£4,700) each.
Vaibhav Gupta’s victory was celebrated in a grand finale event.
He received the cash prize from Sony Entertainment Television and a brand new Brezza car from co-sponsors Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
The budding singing sensation expressed his elation at achieving his childhood dream, stating:
“When I was a kid, I usually said Idol (Indian Idol) was my dream and today it has come true for me.
“I am very happy and feel very proud that I have made my father happy.”
Following his win, Gupta wants to use the prize money to build a music studio to kickstart his musical journey.
He also shared he would love to work with Salman Khan.
