"The greatest achievement of my life!"
Malaysian comedian Nigel Ng, better known as Uncle Roger, has tied the knot with Miami-based Bangladeshi lawyer Sabrina Ahmed in a grand wedding celebration.
The couple wed in Sintra, Portugal, a town famed for its multicultural architecture that symbolised their diverse heritage, blending Chinese, Islamic, and Indian influences in its vibrant setting.
Ng announced the news on Instagram, writing: “On July 19, 2025, I married my best friend @sabriiines,” alongside photos from the three-day festivities.
The celebrations embraced their mixed backgrounds with Western, Indian, and Chinese traditions, reflecting both Sabrina’s Bengali heritage and Nigel’s Malaysian Chinese roots.
Around 70 close friends and family attended.
Among the guests was American comedian Jimmy O. Yang, with Ng calling his marriage “the greatest achievement of my life,” while Sabrina said their journey felt “destined and easy.”
The wedding began with a lively joint bachelor-bachelorette sunset cruise with games and karaoke, followed by a colourful sangeet, a Chinese tea ceremony, and a Western wedding service.
Sabrina stunned in multiple outfits, including a soft pink floral lehenga by Dolly J Studio, an ornate qipao, and a Vivienne Westwood bridal gown.
Paying tribute to her Bengali roots, she later honoured her parents by wearing her mother’s wedding saree with original jewellery, a moment that deeply moved guests.
Ng complemented her looks with four changes of his own, including a classic black tuxedo, a blush embroidered sherwani, and a regal red velvet Mandarin-collared jacket.
The couple’s love story began in 2022 when Sabrina attended one of Ng’s shows while working as corporate counsel in Miami for a luxury resort developer.
Their spark grew stronger after they matched on a dating app, eventually meeting at Boston Airport’s Terminal 3, where their flights landed almost simultaneously.
By March 2023, Ng realised Sabrina was the one, leading them to move to London together.
He proposed the following year under cherry blossoms in Tokyo’s Inokashira Park.
Sabrina, who proudly embraces her Bengali identity, has been described by friends as grounded, ambitious, and supportive of Ng’s comedic journey, often celebrating his achievements online.
Ng, now 34, rose to fame in 2020 after his Uncle Roger skit critiquing the BBC’s fried rice tutorial went viral, skyrocketing his global following.
Today, his YouTube channel has over 10.4 million subscribers and 1.8 billion views, cementing him as one of the world’s most recognisable Asian comedians.
The newlyweds’ Portugal wedding blended love, culture, and heritage, celebrating not only their bond but also the union of two vibrant Asian traditions on a global stage.
