“New nephew coming soon."
Malaysian comedian Nigel Ng, better known as Uncle Roger, surprised fans by announcing that he and his wife Sabrina Ahmed are expecting their first child.
The 34-year-old shared the news on Instagram, coinciding with Lunar New Year and the beginning of Ramadan.
Nigel wrote: “New nephew coming soon.
“Happy Lunar New Year and Ramadan Mubarak.”
A photo showed Nigel placing his hand on Sabrina’s pregnant stomach, both smiling, as well as an ultrasound scan.

The announcement prompted congratulatory messages from celebrities and fans.
Gordon Ramsay commented: “Such great news, congratulations to you both Uncle and Auntie.”
Some joked that the baby would inherit Uncle Roger’s strong opinions on egg fried rice, while others quipped about whether celebrity chef Jamie Oliver would be sending a baby gift.
Several fans referenced “Auntie Helen”, joking that she would be devastated by the latest development in Uncle Roger’s personal life.
The pregnancy announcement comes five months after Nigel revealed that he had married US-based Bangladeshi lawyer Sabrina.
The couple tied the knot in July 2025 in Portugal, reflecting Sabrina’s Bengali heritage and Nigel’s Malaysian roots.
In March 2025, Nigel uploaded photographs from their pre-wedding shoot, which took place across Taipei’s markets and local food spots.
Nigel Ng shot to fame in 2020 after a viral video showed his hilarious reaction to a BBC Food video on cooking egg fried rice.
He was in character as Uncle Roger, a middle-aged Asian man with an exaggerated Cantonese accent who uses catchphrases such as “haiyaa” and “fuiyoh”.
The video propelled him to international recognition.

He now has over 10 million subscribers on YouTube.
Nigel embarked on a stand-up comedy tour from 2022 to 2023, which included a stop in Singapore in June 2022.
The tour was later released as a stand-up comedy special on Hulu.
Beyond comedy, Nigel has expanded into the food industry.
He operates the fried rice restaurant, Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger, in Malaysia.
Nigel will now be expanding to the UK. In April 2026, he will debut a new pan-Asian concept, Kawan by Uncle Roger, in London’s Chinatown.
The launch is a collaboration with Keng Yew, co-founder of YiQi, SanHao, Dozo and The Eight, and Malaysian executive chef Daren Liew, whose previous roles include Nanyang Blossom, SanHao, Duddels and Hakkasan Group.
The menu will draw on a wide range of Asian cuisines and family-style dishes, reinterpreted through a modern British lens.
