South African rising star Tyla will grace Sabrina Carpenter’s upcoming Netflix special A Nonsense Christmas, as she continues to make waves internationally.
The singer joins a star-studded lineup that includes the likes of Chappell Roan, Shania Twain and Kali Uchis.
Nico Hiraga, Quinta Brunson, Cara Delevingne, Kyle Mooney, Megan Stalter, Owen Thiele, and Jillian Bell will also be making special appearances, with Sean Astin playing Santa.
On featuring in the festive special, Tyla said:

A Nonsense Christmas centres around Sabrina’s unique take on a traditional holiday variety show.
So as well as music, expect to see comedy sketches.
Viewers can expect live performances of Sabrina’s hits from her 2023 Fruitcake EP, reimagined Christmas classics and exciting duets.
The trailer also teases playful themes inspired by Charles Dickens, making this a visual and musical treat.

Releasing on December 6, 2024, A Nonsense Christmas promises a mix of music, comedy and festive cheer.

Tyla’s appearance in the Netflix special highlights her growing popularity in the global music scene.
Born in Gauteng and of Indian, Mauritian, Zulu, and Irish ancestry, Tyla’s music career began during her final year of high school, posting original songs and covers on Instagram.
After being discovered by Garth von Glehn, she began recording songs and her international breakthrough came with ‘Water’.
It spawned a viral dance challenge on TikTok and the song was a hit in numerous countries.
Her self-titled debut album was released in March 2024 and Tyla went on to win three gongs at the South African Music Awards.
The 22-year-old’s musical style is characterised by a fusion of the pop and amapiano genres, with many dubbing her the ‘Queen of Popiano’.
Tyla’s appearance in Sabrina Carpenter’s Netflix special is another milestone in her blossoming career.
