"This rhetoric must be called out, exposed, and condemned.”

TikTok has removed a video by beauty influencer and businesswoman Huda Kattan in which she promoted anti-Israel conspiracy theories.

The Iraqi-American entrepreneur, who is the founder and CEO of Huda Beauty, told her 1.7 million TikTok followers that Israel was responsible for “every world war”, including World War One and World War Two.

She also linked Israel to the September 11, 2001, attacks and the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks.

Husa said: “I had a feeling, I was like, were they behind every world war? Yes. Behind September 11th? Absolutely.”

TikTok confirmed that it removed the video for violating community guidelines. The company did not provide further details.

The American Jewish Committee criticised Huda for “using her massive platform to spread vile antisemitic conspiracy theories”.

It added: “This isn’t ‘criticism of Israel’. It’s centuries-old hate, repackaged and broadcast to millions.

“A beauty company spreading this ugliness isn’t just ironic – it’s dangerous.

“We cannot and will not stay silent while anti-Jewish hatred is normalised. Words have real-life consequences.

“This rhetoric must be called out, exposed, and condemned.”

The Anti-Defamation League said the video echoed “some of the oldest and most pernicious antisemitic tropes”.

A spokesperson said: “Having such a big platform for your business and choosing to use it to spread antisemitic conspiracy theories is inflammatory, irresponsible and dangerous.”

Huda Kattan repeated further unfounded claims, including accusations that Israel protects paedophiles.

She also said there was evidence Israel was behind major global events, including both world wars and the October 7 Hamas attack, which killed approximately 1,200 people and saw 251 others taken hostage.

Huda has openly advocated for Palestine and has previously used her platform to call out the “silence” surrounding the violence in Gaza.

She and Saint Levant recently redirected all proceeds from their recent Huda Beauty product campaign to support emergency medical relief in Gaza.

In a statement, the two said the full amount raised, $210,000, would be donated to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) due to the worsening humanitarian situation and the need for life-saving aid on the ground.

The statement read: “From the start of this partnership, we committed to donating 100 per cent of all sales from this collaboration to support the preservation of Palestinian agriculture.

“However, as the crisis in Gaza continues to worsen, with food and aid blocked, support on the ground has become even more crucial.

“As a result, we’ve made the decision to redirect the full amount of $210,000 to MSF (Doctors Without Borders) to support their life-saving medical work.

“At a time where we are witnessing genocide in Gaza, we are trying to find a way to make impact where we can.”

“Please continue to use your platforms to spread awareness, you are making a difference.”

Huda Kattan is one of the world’s biggest figures in the beauty world.

Her company, Huda Beauty, has 57 million Instagram followers and is one of the most popular beauty brands globally.

TikTok’s community guidelines prohibit hate speech, the promotion of hateful ideologies and misinformation that can cause significant harm, including conspiracy theories.
