"opening up the marriage to other sexual partners."

Weeks after tech billionaire Prasanna Sankar accused his estranged wife of harassment and infidelity, Dhivya Sasidharan responded with her own set of explosive claims.

Prasanna, a co-founder of Rippling with a reported net worth of $1.3 billion, recently made headlines after alleging on X that he was “on the run” from Chennai police over false kidnapping charges.

He said the accusations were part of a custody battle over their nine-year-old son.

However, Dhivya accused her estranged husband of soliciting sex workers, pressuring her into an open marriage, and emotionally abusing her throughout their relationship.

She claimed Prasanna allegedly pressured her into having “painful sex” shortly after she gave birth in 2016, claiming it was a “primal need” for men.

Dhivya told The San Francisco Standard: “Prasanna would come and tell me, ‘Look, sex is a primal need for me. You have to do it. It doesn’t matter, like, you know, how much pain you’re in’.

“He would literally, like, tell me that, you know, ‘If you don’t do it, then I want to go outside and get it’.”

Court documents, emails, texts, and photographs cited by the outlet appear to back her claims.

In a 2019 email to Dhivya, the tech billionaire admitted to contacting escorts, saying:

“I’m super sorry for the stress this put on our marriage. I promise to never put our marriage in this position again.”

Later that day, he reportedly proposed the idea of an open marriage:

“I once in a moment of anger discussed about opening up the marriage to other sexual partners. We agreed not to do it.”

Dhivya described the marriage as “the worst nightmare of my life”.

She alleged that he pressured her to take time off work to have sex and threatened to find other partners if she refused.

The couple married a decade ago after meeting at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli.

Dhivya Sasidharan said the relationship worsened after they relocated to Singapore, where she lost her job due to a dependent visa status.

She said: “Singapore was completely not in the family’s plan, ever. And it just felt like an abruption to everybody’s life.”

She also claimed Prasanna restricted her access to family finances and urged her to sleep with his friends:

“That was where, like, you know, our marriage broke.”

The allegations come after the billionaire claimed his estranged wife had cheated on him.

He alleged: “After that, we were negotiating the terms of how many million dollars I needed to pay her as a part of our divorce.

“She was unhappy and decided to instead file a fake police complaint against me, saying I hit her.”

He also alleged that Dhivya abducted their son and took him to the United States.

Prasanna claimed the US court ruled in his favour and approved a custody and financial agreement, which included a payment of Rs 9 crore and a monthly sum of Rs 4.3 lakh.

According to Prasanna, she later returned to Chennai to co-parent but allegedly broke their agreement by withholding their son’s passport.

He said police later attempted to arrest him at a hotel, forcing him to flee with his son.

He added that police officers have since harassed his friends and family, tracked his location, raided his accommodations, and demanded Rs 25 lakh in extortion.

Prasanna maintains his son is safe and “happy” while Dhivya says she feels “scared”, “violated” and “destroyed”.
