Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma, once seen as a power couple, have reportedly ended their relationship and it is claimed to be over marriage pressure.
The duo, who made their romance public in 2023, reportedly parted ways weeks ago.
Speculation about their wedding had been circulating, but sources suggest differences in marriage led to the breakup.
According to Siasat, Tamannaah was eager to get married because she was feeling the pressure to settle down now that she was in her mid-30s.
However, Vijay was not on the same page.
This caused a “point of contention” between them, leading to “frequent disagreements”.
Despite the split, the two continue to hold mutual respect for each other.
A source close to them told Pinkvilla: “Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma parted ways weeks ago as a couple but they plan to remain good friends.
“Both have been working hard in their respective schedules.”
Their relationship became public around the release of Lust Stories 2 in 2023, their first project together.
Vijay Varma had previously stated that while they were not hiding their relationship, they also valued their privacy.
He shared that they had “thousands of pictures just for themselves” and that secrecy required unnecessary effort.
Speaking with journalist Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Vijay explained that he did not want to feel restricted in his relationships.
He said: “I think we were both aligned on the fact that if we like to spend time together and if we like each other, then there is no need to hide this.
“It takes a lot of effort to hide a relationship. You cannot go out together, your friends cannot click your photos.”
“I don’t like such restrictions. It wasn’t like I wanted to be out there, but I just didn’t want to be caged. I didn’t want to cage my feelings.”
Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia confirmed her relationship in June 2023.
She said: “He is someone I really look up to. He is someone with whom I bonded very, very organically.
“With high-achieving women, we have this problem that we think we have to work hard for everything.
“When something is so simple and you don’t have to walk on eggshells to just be yourself because I think in India we also have this that a woman has to change her entire life for someone.
“He’s a person who I care about deeply and yeah, he’s my happy place.”
While Vijay and Tamannaah have not addressed the rumoured breakup, they have appeared to have deleted their pictures together from their respective Instagram accounts.
