Swarovski stores in Vienna get a Manish Arora makeover

The window epitomising ‘Joy’ features Arora’s signature piece – the Candyland skirt

If you are anywhere in Vienna, Austria right now, you might want to visit the Swarovski Kristallwelten store at Kaerntner Strasse 24. Tourists can catch a glimpse of the colourful window display designed by none other than famed Indian designer Manish Arora.

Manish Arora, who has dressed the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and more, recently became the first Indian designer to be chosen to design the stages and window displays at Swarovski Kristallwelten stores across three locations in Austria.

The displays are designed around the motto – ‘Life is Beautiful‘ – and Arora’s vibrant Spring/Summer creations do complete justice to the expression. Especially given that it was also the slogan for Arora’s first fashion show.

From what can be seen in the pictures shared by the designer himself, the display looks exquisite with Arora’s bright, flamboyant outfits, embellished with colourful Swarovski crystals, lining the four different window spaces within the Swarovski Kristallwelten store.

The window epitomising ‘Joy’ features Arora’s signature piece – the Candyland skirt – from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.

The designer experienced a series of firsts as he also became the first Indian designer to be featured in the Swarovski Kristallwelten Magazin.

The magazine’s first edition was launched on 27th March 2017 by CEO D. Swarovski Tourism Services, Stefan Isser.

Manish, however, is not new to global acclaim. In 2016, the designer was awarded the highest French civilian distinction –  the Knight of the Legion of Honour.

His work was exhibited for two months in the windows of the Palais Royal in Paris and he has been a constant fixture at fashion shows in London. So this new deal with Swarovski is only another feather in his cap.

But that’s not all. Arora has also designed an exclusive jewellery collection in collaboration with Swarovski, as part of an 11-designers collective – that is also featured in the window displays of the Swarovski Kristallwelten stores.

The uncrowned king of kitsch fashion in India, Manish Arora is one of the few South Asian designers taking global fashion by storm. One only has to wait and watch to know what’s next on his list of achievements.
