Pakistani stage actress Samar Rana has been arrested for allegedly torturing and facilitating the rape of a teenage domestic worker.

According to police reports, the 14-year-old girl was subjected to repeated sexual assault by several unidentified men.

Authorities revealed that the shocking incident took place inside the actress’ home, where the victim had been employed since early August 2025.

The victim’s mother told investigators that her daughter was drugged, locked inside a room, and sexually abused.

She further stated that one of Rana’s employees initially attacked the teenager after forcing her to consume a spiked drink.

The complainant alleged that Rana then called four other men, who raped her daughter repeatedly over a two-day period.

According to the FIR, the girl managed to escape on August 18, 2025 and informed her family about the ordeal.

Her mother said the child returned home injured, bleeding, and deeply traumatised.

She also alleged that the actress hurled threats at her and stated dire consequences if she told anyone.

The Nawab Town police registered a case against the actress, her staff member, and the four unidentified suspects.

Officials confirmed that Samar Rana was taken into custody following a raid at her residence, while investigations are ongoing.

SP Investigation Saddar Division, Mian Moazzam Ali, stated that justice would be ensured:

“The actress has been taken into custody, and efforts are underway to arrest the other accused.”

The disturbing case has caused widespread outrage in Pakistan, highlighting once again the vulnerability of child domestic workers.

Activists and rights groups condemned the incident, demanding a transparent investigation and strict accountability for all accused individuals.

They stressed that thousands of children, particularly girls, remain at risk of exploitation while employed in households nationwide.

Pakistan has witnessed a string of similar cases where young domestic workers were beaten, raped, or even killed by employers.

Labour laws remain poorly enforced, and many households remain invisible to regulators, leaving child workers in dangerous and unsafe conditions.

Experts argue that systemic failures, lack of oversight, and silence around child labour contribute to repeated tragedies across the country.

This case has reignited calls for stronger protections, including regular inspections and legal mechanisms to prevent domestic worker exploitation.

For now, police continue their pursuit of the remaining suspects as the public demands swift justice for the teenage survivor.
