“This looks like an honour killing portrayed as murder.”

Khushboo Khan, a Pashto drama and stage artist, was found dead in a crop field within the Wapda Colony area of Nowshera District.

Police announced that she had been shot and killed by two men.

It was reported that a murder case has been registered against the two suspects.

The men have been identified as Shaukat and Falak Niaz.

The complaint was lodged by Khushboo’s brother, who identified the accused.

According to police records, one of the suspects had a previous charge of murdering another woman in the entertainment industry.

The FIR states that Khushboo’s brother accused the suspects of killing her because she refused their demands.

The suspects had allegedly pressured her to work exclusively for events they organised and to quit the acting industry.

When she refused, they reportedly enticed her to attend a party, where they allegedly killed her.

However, Akbarpur SHO Niaz Muhammad Khan stated that police believe Khushboo was lured to the event with both suspects present.

They then took her to another location where she was killed. Her body was subsequently dumped in the fields.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects may have used their homes to commit these crimes.

Nowshera DPO Azhar stated that evidence has been collected and an investigation is in progress.

After a post-mortem examination, the police returned Khushboo’s body to her family.

DPO Azhar also mentioned that advanced investigative techniques, including geo-fencing, will be employed to locate the suspects.

This tragic incident has left the local community in shock and the police are under significant pressure to resolve the case swiftly.

Khushboo Khan was a respected figure in the Pashto drama and stage community, and her untimely death has left many mourning.

The ongoing investigation is anticipated to uncover more details as authorities continue their search for the suspects.
