Shah Rukh Khan divided opinion on social media with his comment to Preity Zinta.
An old video resurfaced, featuring SRK as a guest on Preity’s chat show Up Close and Personal with PZ back in 2011.
During the show, Shah Rukh Khan asked Preity Zinta if she was expecting a child.
The question left the actress blushing, and Shah Rukh said:
“I can do this, I can make you pregnant.”
After this comment, Preity awkwardly laughed and seemed to be at a loss for words.
Opinions on social media were divided after watching the video.
Some netizens expressed disappointment in Shah Rukh and said his comments made them feel “uncomfortable”.
One user said: “Disgusting! Can’t believe he actually said that.”
Another wrote: “Women have made this CREEP the most famous actor in the country and then wonder why we are here today.”
A third added: “He is not a saint, he flirts in a very bad manner but just because of his stature, actresses don’t want to create any ruckus.”
On the other hand, others did not see a problem with the remark, with one commenting:
“There is nothing wrong; they are both adults, and she blushed hopefully!”
Another wrote: “I don’t know what all the fuss is about.”
One person defended SRK and said:
“Friends can joke with each other, and they’re like the closest ones. Find some male company.”

Shah Rukh and Preity have known each other for a long time and have starred in many movies together, such as Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer Zaara, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
Shah Rukh Khan is known for his wit and humour, but the consensus on social media is that he went too far in this interview.
Despite this controversial interview, the actors are still on good terms.
In an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session conducted in May 2024, Preity was asked questions about Shah Rukh.
She was complimentary of her former co-star, saying:
“SRK is a powerhouse of talent and one of the most generous and fun actors to work with.
“He always keeps his co-stars on their toes and is very entertaining and competitive. I learned a lot from him in Dil Se.”
On the work front, Preity has stepped out of the spotlight in recent years.
However, she is set to return to the screen in Lahore 1947 alongside Sunny Deol.
Rajkumar Santoshi is directing the film and it is expected to be released in January 2025.
